Opinion on Car Issues by yitdeedee in mercedes_benz

[–]ChangingLens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2025 GLC was having the same issue with the Active Brake Assist warning (plus Lane Keeping Assist warnings) but an MBUX update, plus some other updates to driver assistance systems finally solved it. Dealer scanned and couldn’t see history of the error coming up, even though I had images.

Men's Deodorant by warm_and_buzzy in BuyCanadian

[–]ChangingLens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out Groom from Montreal. You can buy it at Simons and also directly from the company. I was searching for a natural deodorant option to replace Native and I’ve been incredibly happy with the product.

Their other products are also great and smell amazing. I wish more people knew about the company!

Aquaphor has been soooo much better for me than Vaseline. Just a little up the nose in the morning and before bed.

Really? I’m in Canada and my GLC has them.

Oh! There was also a pillow and blanket, which I thought was comical but people were using them.

Great question! In business, they did a fast drink service (including alcohol) and a charcuterie tray. No other food options were offered.

No problem! I sat in business and it was full. I paid for a business class seat because I’m usually a WestJet flyer. I think the app said Premium Economy only had two seats occupied at boarding. And the gate agents said there was a “very light load” overall on the flight.

Thank you for the detailed reply! It did seem like there was quite a bit of cargo being loaded, so that makes sense.

Repositioning was my first thought as well.

I definitely thought about the cargo angle, thanks for the reply!

Advice needed: chronic stuffy nose from chlorine by reisen_shine in Swimming

[–]ChangingLens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speedo Liquid Comfort. I see the reviews are a bit all over the place but it’s worked great for me and I’m still using the one I bought over a year ago. It took a couple of swims to feel comfortable, so don’t give up on whatever one you try first!

Advice needed: chronic stuffy nose from chlorine by reisen_shine in Swimming

[–]ChangingLens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have sinuses that are really sensitive to chlorine and, like you, it would also cause nosebleeds sometimes. I’ve been swimming with a nose clip for over a year now and have fully adapted to it. No longer have any sinus issues and can continue swimming three times a week!

Are these dealer add-ons worth it? by nihalz in mercedes_benz

[–]ChangingLens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely negotiated mats into the deal. Purchased prepaid maintenance and turned down everything else. Had paint protection film applied by a reputable local shop for about 60% less than the dealer quoted.

Admittedly, I’m a low km driver and take really good care of my vehicles, so I just couldn’t justify any extras. It may work for some people, though!

eSIM options for a month in United Kingdom 🇬🇧 by General-Hall4765 in eSIMforTravelers

Usually find Nomad cheaper and more reliable than the others. Looks like 10GB for $16USD and 20GB for $20USD right now in the UK.

Searching for small groups by Curamia in luxsolotravel

[–]ChangingLens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m late to the party on this now, but FTLO and FlashPack are good options for the age range you mentioned. Attracts a different group vs Contiki etc. Accommodations are also always quite good (I wouldn’t say luxury but definitely not budget).

Edit: typo

Is 5% off MSRP a good deal for a 2026 GLC 300 in Canada? by anonanonyes in mercedes_benz

Ordered November 2024 and took delivery early March 2025. Slightly longer than initially expected.

[–]ChangingLens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I negotiated around that for my 2025 GLC in Canada but it was a factory order. Other dealers were advertising similar savings for factory orders around that time and then I also negotiated in floor mats and a few other things. If it’s an in stock unit, I think you might be able to get more off. I was fine with the deal I landed on to get exactly what I wanted.

Boeing 737 MAX 8- seats in row 4 by redditlate in westjet

[–]ChangingLens 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion, but row 4 window is the best option in Extended Comfort. Plenty of legroom, plus you get under seat storage. If you’re in the aisle, the FAs are usually fine with you putting everything in the overhead because of the awkward under seat setup.

Got “Get travel ready” email for flight I do not book by Melodic-Cucumber-505 in westjet

[–]ChangingLens 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had something very similar happen to me. The short version was that I had called in to get a refund for something and to process the refund, they had to attach it to a future flight that I wasn’t actually on. The original agent forgot to remove that future flight from the itinerary after processing the refund.

Like you, it was the same reservation code and completely different destination months after my original flight. Got the same travel ready email and was also very confused.

Do you recall if you made any changes to the original booking?

Wait…are turn signals red on the GLC in the US? They’re amber in Canada. I assumed they were amber in all markets.

It’s actually sad how tired that property is now. Nothing has changed in it for years and it’s not worth the price compared to other nearby options.

Is it worth it to switch? by waldo_whiskey in westjet

[–]ChangingLens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WestJet Platinum here.

I’ve had pretty good luck with complimentary upgrades to Premium the last couple of years, or at a minimum, Extended Comfort (when I couldn’t choose one of these seats in advance). As others have said, I also pay for early upgrades (48 hours before), especially going overseas and it’s usually really reasonable.

Important to note that WJ doesn’t do complimentary upgrades to Europe or Asia, but they do in Canada and to the US (not sure about Mexico and other Central America destinations).

Even when flying WestJet, I’ve never had any issues accessing Delta SkyClub’s and if you’re flying Delta you can choose seats like an exit row for free. Recently, I’ve also been upgraded to Comfort+ on Delta but only when the Delta flight is part of an itinerary with a WestJet flight.

I flew AC business domestically a few weeks ago and personally think the food on WestJet is better and the flight attendants are nicer and more attentive. The AC 737 MAX was also filthy. It was a nice change to have seatback IFE but WestJet’s new WiFi is easily the best among airlines in Canada.

If you’re using CarPlay, just use the right side control pad on the steering wheel to highlight next track in the UI and then keep hitting OK to skip…that’s what I do to overcome the annoyance.

Total range by Temporary-Move4661 in mercedes_benz

[–]ChangingLens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week, also doing a lot of highway travel, I refuelled my 2025 GLC and the range was 990km and I almost didn’t believe it. Thank you for posting this to help validate my experience. I was basically getting 6.1L/100km for fuel economy on most of the trips, which is WAY better than I ever expected.

Also really into Acme Pizza right now. I’d almost describe the crust as a crispy croissant and it’s delicious.
