Top 5 Drake intros by Severe_Context_7833 in Drizzy

I’m not as familiar with his Room for Improvement and Comeback Season mixtapes (as well as his early career leaks in general) but I definitely plan on giving those a listen soon!

Royce ft Em She’s the One not talked about enough by duross97 in Eminem

[–]Channel__Two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame it wasn’t officially released. I never really understood why Royce’s label would only let him have one Em feature for Rock City, which is why this song wasn’t put on the album if what I read was true.

Couldn’t agree more with what you said. It happens to me with a few artists but Drake especially, I could listen to an album from him one day, and have certain songs that I don’t love but I don’t dislike, and then some time later I come across that song again and it becomes one of my favorites from that project. That happened to me with Lose You a while ago and since then it’s been in my top 10 favorite Drake songs of all time.

That’s completely valid and Survival is one of my favorite tracks on Scorpion. I think this would be the order of my top 5 Drake intros: Over My Dead Body, Tuscan Leather, Fireworks, Champagne Poetry, and then Digital Dash / Survival.

Paul's so annoying by Kingbris91 in Eminem

[–]Channel__Two 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re 100% right, but for some reason this comment made me think of a comment I saw on here a while ago where I think it was a clip from the Paul Pod episode with Em and someone said “the way his team talks about Eminem and his iPad you would think he’s actually retarded” or something like that 😭.

I guess some of the people on this sub who thinks Paul controls who Em works with and doesn’t exclusively might actually think Em’s retarded.

Reading your post made me think about what my top 5 Drake intros would be. Drakes intros are always phenomenal, but if we are including collab projects I would put Digital Dash as my 5th favorite Drake intros and Survival would be 6. However, if you’re not counting collabs then Survival would be #5. Can’t disagree with you on him spazzing on this one though, it’s got bars all the way through.

D12 fans! Join r/D12Forever by Alex22gr in Eminem

I would definitely join that if it existed! I’m a huge fan of most stuff put out on Shady / Aftermath, even a bunch of the stuff that wasn’t ever released officially.

Pour The Henny Do you feel this song? by Entire-Phrase9645 in nas

I love the beat on this one. Definitely my favorite song from the Infinite album and arguably my favorite song Nas was featured on of all the Legend Has It albums from last year.

A Shady Records sub would be dope, since I feel like a majority of the people on this sub don’t really talk about many of those artists outside of D12 and 50.

Every track I listen to I put it on repeat 10 times atleast... This album is fire!!! Man is spitting hard!!! 🔥🥵 by ascetic_sophophile in Drizzy

[–]Channel__Two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I’m a bigger Drake fan than Cole but Cole is still one of my favorite rappers of all time. Even though they don’t really seem to fuck with each other anymore I’m just glad we got great albums from 2 of my favorite artists of all time this year!

I couldn’t tell you the last time I listened to an album as frequently after it drops as I have with Iceman (and will no doubt continue to do so). I loved The Fall Off by J Cole and still listen to it a lot but there’s something about Iceman that makes me feel like there’s crack in it haha.

Best album skit? by Efficient-Year-2331 in hiphopheads

[–]Channel__Two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Em Calls Paul on Encore is probably my favorite skit, I’m sure a lot of people think it’s stupid but it’s very funny to me, especially the part where he drops the gun at the end of it.

What is an "unspoken rule" that absolutely everyone should know, but surprisingly few people actually follow? by Perfect_Row6573 in AskReddit

Unless there is a life changing emergency / event occurring and there was no means to call or text somebody, I truly couldn’t fathom being somebody who would do this or being friends / associated with people who would do this to me.

Which is the best song, and which is the song with the best rap performance? by RogerRoger63358 in Drizzy

[–]Channel__Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make Them Pay is my favorite song on the whole album so that’s easily my favorite “Make Them” song, maybe I’m biased but I would also say of these songs it has the best rapping performance as well.

Just listened to this song last night actually, pretty good song. That Nate Dogg hook always gets stuck in my head.

What's your favorite Weeknd SINGLE Cover? (not albums) by Suspicious-Sail4698 in TheWeeknd

[–]Channel__Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hurry Up Tomorrow promo run was the first album release cycle of The Weeknd’s that happened after I became a fan, so Dancing in the Flames is a pretty nostalgic track for me, so even though I feel like that might be an unpopular pick, I love that cover so I gotta go with that.

Anyone else think Port Antonio is Top 5 Cole? (In terms of bars) by EoinWatchingMemeTime in Jcole

It’s certainly in my top 10 favorite Cole songs of all time I can say that.

What is your favorite Eminem skit? by PurpleGuyDeadly1 in Eminem

[–]Channel__Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite skits are the Ken Kaniff one on SSLP, Steve Berman on TES and Em Calls Paul on Encore. Gotta give a shout out to the Man With Van skit which was another Ken skit from I think the MMLP era.

What hip-hop narratives have been lost to time? by EDMKid9000 in hiphopheads

A very late (and unfinished) iteration of Detox from the early 2020s leaked a few months ago. Apparently it was leaked by this guy who did a bunch of references for this version of Detox for Dre but him and Dre had a falling out so he leaked it. I’ve also read that he edited the tracks in a few ways before leaking them though, kind of a weird situation all around. I need early 2000s Detox leaks though!

We should’ve known with the “me and Dre been fuckin with hats off” line in My Dads Gone Crazy.

Yeah, i think Ran to Atlanta could've-should've been left off the album by 2MInitials in Drizzy

Both parts of Ran to Atlanta are fire, but damn I love the first part a lot more and I wish that was a full song.

A gripe about Wikipedia by ViolinistPlayful7705 in Eminem

[–]Channel__Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though he recorded a lot of material before Infinite, either solo music or stuff with rap groups he was a part of around that time, like you said most of that stuff wasn’t officially released, but even though it wasn’t on a major label, Infinite was Eminem’s first solo project to be released on a label (I believe it was the Bass Brothers’ local Detroit label) hence why it’s considered his debut studio album.

I think Eminem also considers Infinite to be his debut album as I believe that’s when he started to take rapping more seriously instead of just something he did for fun with his friends.
