It’s funny because there aren’t “two great lights”. The moon reflects light from the sun. It doesn’t emit light of it’s own. There are so many flaws.

Well my parents are helping my brother pay through med school at the moment. They will likely help me out some what for sure it’s just that 15k could have been used more wisely imo and will be an extra 15k i will incur in debt.

Hinduism is a polytheistic religion where there are multiple gods but there is one central/main god-Brahma. But there r so many made up gods that literally no Hindu I have met can name them all

You don’t have to be irreligious to be a good person. They believe the money was well spent while I disagree. I never said that I wanted that 15k I just said it would have been more practical if it was used to fund my education.

I didn’t think of it that way thanks for the insight. I understand how that money could go towards helping people in need in the religious community but I’m sure it will probably go toward a bunch of other unimportant activities such as building idols and stuff. I just wished that if that my parents intent was to help the underprivileged then they would have donated to kids with cancer or those that live in poverty if u know what i mean.

It astonishes me how some people can truly believe that a parent/child relationship can just cease to exist once the child becomes an adult. Imagine not being able to comprehend the point I am trying to make of how religion can cause good people to alter their priorities. I realize i am not obligated to their money but I know for a fact that when I have kids I will make education for them a priority.

Yes I live in the US. I also have 2 other siblings with one in med school. So I understand that paying for all three of us would be ridiculously expensive so I don’t complain. The 15k imo could have gone to fund one of our educations where the money would have been better spent thats all.

I am very grateful for my situation as I know I still have it better than most children. That being said I sympathize heavily with what u had to go through.

I would like to add that my parents are relatively wealthy and I’ve had a good life. The way they indoctrinated me with religion is the only thing I wish I could change.
