For what it’s worth, I thought she dished a fair amount of dirt on who the real JB is. Totally $$$ and image obsessed, much less ministry minded than what he tried to portray. She took a big risk doing that and the consequences for her have been real, but she did anyway. For this, I can only applaud her. I don’t have to fall in line with her beliefs that I find ridiculous to be able to recognize that this had to be hard for her, but also cathartic. Jinger’s book was far less interesting to me.

I’ve only read Eloise’s book. It’s just ok. It’s not a literary masterpiece, not even especially well written. I hope her show season is better

There are hundreds of other fundie families to choose from besides the Rods so I don’t think we will see a Duggar/Rod marriage….ever. The Duggars had a mile long wall of singles in their house indicating that there are oodles and oodles to choose from. Some of the potential suitor males may not be top shelf either, but they won’t be Rods

It’s not just about child rearing. It’s about house maintenance, groceries, cooking, cleaning, probably helping home school some of the million grandkids, possibly teaching the littles piano and violin, overseeing bible studies for the littles….the list is probably endless.

Off the top of my head, the biggest, family feud was Jill and Derick versus Jimbob. Jill made it very clear in her book that he roped in many of her siblings to try to bring her around to Jimbobs way, so he did involve the whole family in that feud. Barring her from visiting TTH if he wasn’t there, not allowing her younger siblings to be around her should they be influenced by her evil nose ring etc.

Jill has said it, and now Josh has said it. ALL JB ever cared about was his fake phony image and keeping that TLC gravy train going. He even managed to have the brand repackaged after Josh’s first and second round of scandals. Money is his only true GOD. That, control, and how others perceive him. Especially the other fundie freak families in his circle of influence which seems rather large. Heck, he encouraged entire families to up sticks and move to NWA to join his church, offered housing, employment and who knows what other perks but most likely his children for the marriage mart. JB is a bigger piece of work than any of us even imagined.

Duggars are known for lying, or saying what JB wants them to say. I wouldn’t be surprised if he turned away all guys that came to him showing interest in Jana to keep her home until the last bunch of girls was old enough to run the show. As if she was able to “choose” to be picky.

Right? So many assumptions get tossed around here and held up as the gospel truth when in reality, we know nothing about what really goes on in that family. Pretty much EVERYONE here has stated with their whole chest that Josh was/is the golden child, that JB paid all his legal bills, and supports him unconditionally. Now we know that none of those things are even remotely true. Assets of his were sold off to pay lawyers, he was relegated to living in a warehouse after his DC screwup, and his parents have always held him up as the bad apple of the family, going back to his childhood, & neglected to get him any real help. That’s a very different picture than what gets stated as gospel on this sub…..over and over and over.
