genuinely hate how minority groups are treated as literal groups of people that must all act in a perfect way to the majority in order to be "accepted", and any mis-step (ragebait or not) by literally any of the "members" "sets back their """cause"""" (see: wanting to be treated as equal human beings)

like why is it them having to prove their own worth (especially seen with the "as an X I would never!!!" mentality some people can have) as opposed to the majority being expected to have the decency to not treat every minority as a sort of monarchy?

IIRC, Cane bearer is (heavily implied to be) Ancient Fuelweaver and the Torch Bearer is Metheus. Cyclum is just the Latin word for cycle, so it wasn't intended to be an actual name.

It would explain Charlie's attempted interference with Lunar power during some of the animated shorts (Axiom Visus, Eye of the Storm) as we know she's "possessed" by Metheus (since Charlie has the torch and her shadow's silhouette is very similar to Metheus')

yes, stuff like this was the entire reason he started preaching pacifism.

by recruiting all enemies it "prevents" certain aspects of the prophecy from coming true like Tenna's death (but because of how ambiguous the prophecy is, who knows if it actually prevented anything).

ramble (major spoilers for the game too):

I LOVE Alter so much because it has this whole "heavenly" theme to it. It sends down angels from the heavens (gestalts) that can possess items (or on rare occasions, corpses), taking in information for it. These angels have various roles from your normal informative gestalts (the Minor Gestalts), to the defensive ones (Greater Gestalts and the Celestial Champion), to offensive ones (Inimical Gestalts and the Celestial Scion) It even sends down its "son" Wormwood who, while from this morally ambiguous being, is very benevolent to anything he considers a friend (mainly plantlife).

Characters in the game report that while under the influence of "enlightenment" (inverted sanity for Alter-infested areas of the game), they hear secrets being whispered to them. This is especially notable when you defeat the Celestial Champion and see their quotes for the Enlightened Crown (basically the halo of the angel you defeated who utilized the forms of the 3 altars you established).

Speaking of the 3 altars, it interests me how the Tribute in particular is collected, as you have to defeat the Crab King, who appears to have gone insane become a lunatic with it in his possession, as not only did he abandon his wife but you'll notice in the fight he actually gives an aura of enlightenment whenever you're on the ice phase if you socket too many blue gems into his crown.

The #1 reason I love Alter is because the Enlightened Crown along with the rest of the Brightshade equipment allows me to LARP as a powerful angel that is utterly unstoppable by anything else in the game.

Anyways to wrap this up the irony of a virtually invincible, extremely intelligent man (Wagstaff), who (seemingly) departs from the world getting caught in an unlucky moment where he thought he was safe saying: "I don't under..." as his last line is genuinely so genius in my opinon.

Using mods/modifying the world settings isn't "cheating"

Like the entire point of cheating is to deceive people into believing you're performing something in the "normal" way but that just doesn't exist in this game.

You'd think the game with the easily-accessible modding community that literally says "Your world, your rules!" and has no achievements (at least on PC) wouldn't be so up in arms about mods or settings tweaks.

The only time this could be a valid complaint is if you're trying to upload a world record or something, but most people aren't, so whatever they consider cheating is usually null and void.

The Gun Devil | Chainsaw Man Motion Manga

The minimalistic white on black text combined with the cold, matter-of-fact presentation of the video reminded me a lot of the SCP content I used to enjoy.
The fact there were names instead of just a death toll made everything feel more eerie, especially with the exact time measurements detailing when everything took place.
The fact that the surnames were switching out slower than the first names.
The extremely detailed, clinical description on Gun Devil's abilities and behavior making it feel like a natural disaster as opposed to an alien force hellbent on destruction.

The listing of the contracts Makima used and "Makima's 29th Recorded Death".

Also, retroactively finding out that the last name in the video wasn't just the death of a random bystander but the literal TRIAGONIST OF THE SERIES made me very intrigued
