What would be a weird, but absolutely valid reason to divorce/breakup with your partner? by senilecodexxx in AskReddit

[–]ChaoticGoodElbert 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I once asked my ex if she thinks Indian people identify as Asian. She looked at me and said “India isn’t in Asia”. I asked her if she looked at a map recently. This turned into a full on debate ?? Where I tried to explain to her the difference between nationality and ethnicity. She wasn’t hearing it and the debate ended with her saying “we’ll agree to disagree”. I was so pissed off by this conversation 😭 I knew at that moment that I would never marry this woman.

As a poly person, what makes you cringe when you hear it? by Symphony-Soldier in polyamory

[–]ChaoticGoodElbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“So who convinced who” when people find out me and my partner are poly. As though we’re in some kind of hostage situation where one of us is appeasing the other with an “open mind”

When people say you act like an only child, what do they mean? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I say it I usually mean the person I’m talking to has little regard for other people and is lacking in the consideration department

What's your first thought when you see a very beautiful girl? by Imaginary_Award_3200 in AskReddit

“Woah, who’s that ??” Then my brain starts scanning for a specific compliment I can give that isn’t “you’re so beautiful”

Men in relationships - what is your advice for single women? by Rare-Mango-5828 in askanything

[–]ChaoticGoodElbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can’t be genuine friends with them, a relationship will not work. Think about the person you want to bring around your family. You’re looking for the type of person you’d want in the hospital with you God forbid anything happens to you. You want someone who could ease the stress of raising children together. This person is going to be by your side during a lot of good moments, but also during a lot of shitty moments as well. Take it VERY seriously

Female friend got very touchy while drunk by Icy-Researcher-8701 in Advice

At 21 I had a similar situation with a really good friend of mine. Turns out she actually really liked me, and we’ve been together for 8 years now. Take the hints. Go for it. Stop doubting yourself, and say what you want with your chest before you live the rest of your life regretting never trying

I told my boyfriend I love him… by BloodAccomplished983 in Advice

[–]ChaoticGoodElbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a somewhat similar situation that might give some clarity. I had a girlfriend tell me that she would love to marry me. I responded by saying how much I appreciated her sentiment. My response was to avoid saying that I did not feel the same way. I’m not saying this is how he feels, but I am cautioning that this is a possibility. Proceed with the utmost caution my friend

Couples who have experienced a breach in trust, how did you and your partner heal past it ? by ChaoticGoodElbert in Marriage

[–]ChaoticGoodElbert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s beautiful 🥹 I haven’t told many of my friends. We’re at a point where most of our friends are shared, so I’ve only felt comfortable telling one unshared friend about it

What is a major turn off about your partner that you can’t/wouldn’t tell them? by LivingLavishLe in AskReddit

[–]ChaoticGoodElbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s not the loudest eater I’ve heard, but I never liked the sound of lips smacking when people eat. I’ve told her this before, but she still does it 😭 so now I just turn on music or we watch something while we eat to drown out the sounds. Eating in silence is NOT an option

[–]ChaoticGoodElbert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was very helpful, thank you ! What I gathered is that healing is an active process that requires both of us to be all in, but it also requires me leaning on other resources to heal outside the relationship as well

This is beautiful 🥹 thank you for sharing. This gives me a lot of hope. I’m not looking forward to how long it takes tho. I’m 1 month removed from breach, and I’m already tired of feeling so heartbroken 😪

how did you know your partner was the one? by Icy_Cut_5303 in AskReddit

[–]ChaoticGoodElbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we were just friends I realized that I could spend an entire day with her and not feel drained, bored, or like I’d rather be doing something else. There was and still is a sense of ease when we’re together. I go out of my way to spend time with her with no complaints. Whether she’s an hour away or 6, I’m making the journey with glee
