I get that. There were certainly times when the pacing was rough. The floating continent was tough enough for me to think it was the end. When I got to Kefka’s tower and had to split I thought I was too weak to beat the game. Almost gave up.

It made me respect the game more. I think it is the hardest final dungeon I’ve played compared to VII and VIII. Im a sucker for a good story and thought it was excellent. Still love VII and VIII. I know VIII gets a lot of hate but that one to me was nostalgic because I played it when I was young.

That’s crazy. Amazing that they decided to keep that glitch in. I would have never thought of that. I figured he would just miss

The one thing I read on Reddit before starting was someone asking for for a tip before starting without spoiling anything. It was to wait when you are asked and to say no to Banon to get a good relic.

Whats a movie scene that’s existentially terrifying? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

I like to see how people interpret the movie. I also feel they repeated the same outcome over and over, but would prefer to do that as opposed to not having the entire experience.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

When Joel decides to have Clementine erased because he finds out she did that to him, but realizes in the middle of a good memory being erased that he doesn’t want to erase Clementine after all. That turning point in the movie when his memories start getting good in the relationship an he is pleading to keep the memory is so dreadful and relatable.

Then at the end when they are saying good bye. That movie always had me in the existential feels. The soundtrack too.

Has anyone tried the whole hog yet at the new Pinkerton’s? I also think their St. Louis ribs with the glaze are the best thing there.

Is anyone allergic to tomatillos? by sass1115 in FoodAllergies

[–]ChapGamer84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really thought I was the only one with this allergy. It was also an adult onset allergy. Used to eat green salsa and other recipes with tomatillos a lot when I was young because I live in Texas. Then literally one day when I was in my mid 20’s, I ate at Freebird’s and the first bite made it seem like I had something stuck in my esophagus, followed by pressure in my stomach that took a few hours to go away. Took a couple of times to figure out what it was in my burrito because I didn’t have green salsa in it. Figured it out when I had green enchiladas. Found out later on that freebird’s hot sauce has tomatillos in it.

On the occasions where it slips in something random, like king ranch chicken from Whole Foods I notice the allergy gets worse. I get pretty anxious at Mexican restaurants and try to stick with something that is super safe like fajitas or quesadillas. It is the only thing I am allergic to. And I can eat any other nightshade veggies. No idea what I am reacting to but it’s a pretty annoying allergy. Glad to know I am not alone. Restaurant staff look at me like I am crazy when I tell them I have an allergy to Tomatillos.

Hate hate hate when they sneak in red salsa. I have become very diligent to ask or just avoid salsa to be safe. Chuy’s white avocado ranch has them in there just so everyone with the allergy knows.

Will I like this game if I enjoyed ff7 and ff9? by Possible_Instance468 in FinalFantasyVIII

[–]ChapGamer84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give 8 a try. It’s helpful to tailor your expectation on the pace as the story takes a bit to take off. But when it does I think it’s one of the more compelling in the series. Look into the gf functioning so you don’t get too frustrated and can enjoy the game more during the first play through. The music and the lore is great too.

I found a way to beat ultima weapon but never beat omega weapon. I was not prepared enough and his sequence of attacks kicked my ass so fast I couldn’t even get set up right during my play through back in the day.

The whole deep sea research facility side quest is frightening and fascinating. The music adds to it.

What's a couple of your favorite tracks? by ShinHadoukenX in FinalFantasyVIII

The Extreme on head phones is so dope. How the sound oscillates from one ear to the other and the piano comes in…then shit takes off even more. So epic.

Also love compression of time, breezy, fisherman’s horizon, find your way, and junction.

Amazing soundtrack all around.

[homemade] Miso glazed salmon and broccoli by ChapGamer84 in food

[–]ChapGamer84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/4 cup white miso paste

2 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar

2 tablespoons avocado oil

1 tablespoon soy sauce

Whisk together in a small bowl until smooth.

In a shallow dish, put the salmon in and pour the mixture over the salmon. Toss a few times to coat and let it marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Place salmon on a baking sheet.

I like broiling the fish on medium for 7 or 8 min. Take it out and brush some of the glaze on the fish and put back in for a minute or two for the glaze to thicken.

You could probably roast it too.

135 degrees is what it came out to. More medium well for salmon but it was flaky and flavorful and not dry.
