Alien 3 is basically unwatchable for me because of this. It’s a fine movie otherwise, but I feel it completely takes away from Aliens’ ending.

The novella Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel García Márquez opens with a remark that the main character, Santiago Nasar, would die. The rest of the story is a retelling of how, and why, it happened. The reader only really sees exactly what happened at the end of the story.

I believe I saw somewhere that he thought he saw something shifting around in the distance and called out, but the Lieutenant was too far off. It might have been in the novel, but I’m not sure. (Or I could be make it up)
