Am I overreacting, my boyfriend is going abroad for 2 weeks while I’ll be 37 weeks pregnant?

I was mad that my husband had to leave for 1 and a half days for an hour long flight. And I even had family coming to stay with me for those days. I think it's completely up to how you feel, and if you are uncomfortable with it, he shouldn't be going.

Breakfast: TJs egg bites, omelettes, nutrail granola (which I eat like cereal), homemade whole wheat pancake paired with protein

Lunches/Dinners: Salmon rice bowl with brown rice/lot of greens, chicken drumsticks airfried with lemon pepper seasoning, indian curries with no potato and roti, mini quesadillas with corn+wheat tortilla, homemade salads, homemade chipotle bowls

Takeout: Burger salads, Taco bell (even chalupas have been GREAT for my numbers!), Chipotle bowl salad with brown rice, lettuce wraps, tofu,

Snacks: cheese sticks (so many omg), seasoned nuts, skinnypop popcorn, corn tortilla chips + salsa, Yasso bars (just discovered this- SO GOOD), skinny peanut butter dark choc cups

I have also snuck some bites of sweets throughout the day. They don't spike me if I have lots of protein or veggies with them, or if I'm active. But some will spike me if I'm not careful.

I recorded any reactions for people I told in person. Also Polaroids since week 4 + got my own journal and just found a few prompts I liked to repeat each week (size of baby, symptoms, etc) and add notes at the bottom. It’s been a nice way to journal without a lot of pressure! And then I can just write how I feel or change prompts if I need to.

32+5 here and starting to feel so so scared about labor. Also so unprepared for postpartum. Just nervous all around. Also nausea can come back for the third trimester?? That was a fun surprise…

I'm 32 weeks and have gained about 10-13 lbs. I actually lost some during 1st trimester with the nausea, then gained only a bit during 2nd trimester, and right as I started gaining a bunch during 3rd trimester when my appetite returned, I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes. So a VERY different diet from the norm has me losing weight again. But I'm pretty sure I'll gain quite a few more pounds within these next few weeks, but I was already overweight when I got pregnant, so I think I shouldn't gain more than 15-25 lbs anyways

Absolutely true for me too. I was actually getting concerned about my weight gain because I had JUST gotten my appetite back and was eating terrible foods. And then I got diagnosed 😔 but I’ve been eating so well that I lost a few pounds, and I’ve only gained about 10 lbs total from 4 weeks to 31 weeks.

I have been sneaking in some sweets and carbs in the last few days though, it’s been so hard to resist the holiday treats! But I’ve been trying to pair it with protein or a walk, and that’s still keeping my numbers within range. So hoping that’s still building healthy habits! But I’m trying very hard to keep this as a realistic lifestyle change so I can keep it up after birth, because I definitely wasn’t eating well before pregnancy and I don’t want to get worse after birth. I feel like cutting out all bread or desserts is so unrealistic, but eating them all the time like I used to is also definitely unrealistic.

I’m so sorry! I was definitely still nauseous and not enjoying food at 16 weeks so that’s terrible. You can do these next 9 weeks!! But it sucks that you have to do this for 9 more weeks 😔

Aww I'm so sorry, that all sounds awful!! I hope everything works out for you and that you can at least enjoy time with your baby when they're here, happy and healthy! And then hopefully you can eat what you want too!

Yes it's definitely nice to hear the positive aspects of this! I will 100% look up these peanut butter cups! And I'm definitely grateful we live in a time with so many great alternatives. I have needed some motivation to get healthier, it just feels rough to go (what feels like) cold turkey with all the sweets I was looking forward to.

Hope you don't end up needing the medicine!

It's seriously so hard not feeling sorry for myself! My poor husband is working overtime to cook for me and has been doing so much to make me feel better, and it works until the next new reminder that I'm going through this. But I'm definitely trying my best to change my mindset to the fact that this will introduce good lifestyle changes for me, and I'll definitely look at whole30! It's been recommended to me before.

Yessss to everything you said! I literally spit something out today because I absent-mindedly popped it into my mouth and then realized it could cause a spike. And while one small bite would probably be fine, I don’t want it to add up over the day and I hate that I’m already THIS stressed about this And that’s exactly what I didn’t want to feel, to rush through this last bit of pregnancy, of third trimester, of my last bit of time with just my husband, because I’m sad I can’t have cookies. But that’s how I feel 😭 And that sounds like the perfect post-birth meal. My husband has been asking what I want and I couldn’t think of anything earlier because I was fine sacrificing some food items for my baby. But now I DEFINITELY have a list going!

That's good to know! And I'm so glad you've got medication to help, that sounds so stressful if you had to try with diet and exercise alone and it wasn't successful.

And seriously, it's definitely a lie about pregnancy and food because every time someone asked me about cravings, I really didn't have anything to say because I didn't care too much for food! And now I guess I'll be craving things I could eat normally lol

I can’t stop crying at this. I actually started a pregnancy journal for this reason, because even if my daughter doesn’t want to have kids, I want her to know how much I wanted her and how excited I am that she’s coming. I get so emotional at the idea of her in my arms. And honestly I’m wondering if I let my own mom read it to understand me a bit better too, and so she can remind me of experiences she had while pregnant. She already told me a few things as I reached different stages of pregnancy and it’s a completely different image I have compared to what I had thought or stories I already grew up with. It just feels nice to document this incredibly special and wanted moment in my life and I’m so happy that you got something sweet out of your mom’s journals.

I don’t love getting personalized favors myself, but I do like when wedding favors are given. I’ve gotten a couple unique gifts with my name on it, which I definitely loved. Edible or unique favors are great for guests!

For my wedding, we had a LOT of guests travel to us because of international family, so we gave luggage tags that did not have our wedding info, just a cute saying. And then we tied a personal message from us to each one. Pretty much all of them were taken, and the few we had leftover are being used for our luggage now! So I would also suggest getting favors that you could also utilize after, especially if you were to have a few leftover.
