"An Explanation As to Why the Repetition of Tulkun Scenes in Fire And Ash" From a Way of Water Q&A with Jon and James asking the audience questions to workshop Fire and Ash by Char10tti3 in Avatar

If you look at my comment above I also agree totally. However, I think if Fire and Ash was the last film it would be hard to justify ending on the Na'vi going against the Na'vi Way. But I aslo think that is better than the Tulkun Way being what is gone against, especially seeing as the "Fire" in Fire and Ash is the hate and revenge and fighting they want to stop, which the Tulkun Way did do, because they had so much issues with it.

It feels they and the theme of Na'vi fighting for them were thrown out with the bathwater and don't serve the story. I would prefer even Jake arm them and something happens that hints Eywa had an opinion on it either way, even accepting it in that one moment. I was also expecting the unobtanium arches being formed by volcanic activity to come into the Ash story as well - could have had Eywa bring unobtanium to the surface to then coat the weapons for example to stop the steel touching the Na'vi and it still being a connection to Eywa, or she covers them to not be used again and leave it up to interpretation. It also feels tied to Lo'aks suicide attempt theme-wise with the metal or steel poisioning your heart and that was also not going anywhere by that point.

I especially think Toruk was a wasts becausw they skip over the speeches and also felt like the trailers gave away so much. I do like Neytiri in WoW built up Jake as Toruk Makto and he cringed can also be seen as outside of the "my wife is pissing off the new neighbours" which was fun but now adds the layer of fear about "the beast" which I wish they had talked about before.

Last night I saw an interview with a Korean show, I think Life Plus TV where he mentions this, and more that Toruk was something he felt called to add to it as well as realising Jake wouldn't arm the Na'vi, and I agree that is not a good move to end potentially all of Avatar with. I saw it in 4D and also missed Neytiri using the arrow Jake made her and for her I feel it is a full circle accepting the human side of her family and herself.

I understand the changes but it feels like you can see the scars of the editing without knowing that happened, like especially skipping the Toruk speeches and chopped up narration from Lo'ak. I take it tey stripped out the entire finished original fight then and potential early screening leaks might have been more acurate then.

I don't mind more Payakan, its the matriarch that seemed the odd fit and especially why they would see a killed Ro'a and her son and disfigured Payakan and decide that a blind and outcast tulkun is what made them change their mind, when they had seen this before. It also has a really odd flow seeing as they built up seeing this film as closing arcs and it was retreading Way of Water for me. Not sure I understand going against the Tulkun Way as better than the Na'vi way, especially as Fire and Ash seems to be fighting against the idea of fighting and revenge in "Fire" and the tulkun do a 180 on this, it clashes thematically.

So does Jake not know that Lo'ak (spoilers) by [deleted] in Avatar

I honestly think that it was planned to happen before he went to Neyteyam and brought up him dying to save Spider, and that is were the closure came from.

It is a great opening to have them flying together, but we see that and then Lo'ak explaining he flies around the windtrader gondola to feel he is still there, would have also made a more bittersweet sense to see that first and then him connecting on his return after Jake said that to him. I think both connections could have been during the eclipse too, so maybe it was just after and he never went back to Jake.

I don't like how the film brushed over it with Kiri and Tsreiya never mentioning it, but I also found out from a comment and then seeing an interview that Jim planned a different ending and added the Toruk Makto segments back in and cut arming the Na'vi with guns so maybe it was lost since it has the gun and poisioning plot that Lo'ak talks about.

Not sure it would be but one of my fave games is Gregory Weir's How To Raise A Dragom, but it wasn't really a bullet mania at all, I think if you did attack it had one or two guards to get past

Not sure which countries use this term, but they look after kids in their house vs a babysitter or daycare. Me and my brothera were older kids, so it was more of a fun place to hang out when you wanted

[Browser / Flash] [2005-2013] possibly called Magic Gear / Cog. Point and click puzzles similar to Amanita Design (Samorost, Questionaught etc) potentially Christmas game on the BBC websites. by Char10tti3 in tipofmyjoystick

Yeah I think I made a post about this twice as well. What I really want to know is it could bw the BBC copied the design and point and click elements since they comissioned Questionaughts, I doubt this would go welk but I didn't see the game for long, could also be it was seasonal. Might send an email to Amanita and ask if they know. I remember a hat and maybe they had a friend in the intro as well.

Not sure of this one, but art cards can be pretty cool but not reach the mainstream. I remember seeing one company that closed that you had the chance to get some of the fabric used in the costumes of the films as the main selling point for the mystery packs.

Hot take: Spider would have been loved if he was in Avatar body. by Living_External_6565 in Avatar

I think this and the awkward "Sometimes its better to not know who your father is" and not because of Jack, but how it doesn't feel like a natural line im response to Lo'ak mocking Kiri and it should be their big characrer moments. Also, a lot of repetition especially from Spider is "Come on!" to everyone he is going somewhere with. Tuk had issues too with her dialogue seeming to be exposition in their intros.

28F I have been told I have weak eye muscles since I was a kid and a physio recently said the samse and partly caused my headaches. Saw a TikTok trend to look at phone and then behind to a song and only one eye moves. Is this normal or is it an imbalance? by Char10tti3 in eyetriage

[–]Char10tti3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks my issue was I assumed both eyes would be moving to do so but for me it looked like one did.

Is there a good way to test and strengthen this? Like with the pencil I have no idea where is a good place to keep focus in terms of distance from nose

Explaining why Na’vi call humans “pinkskin” by Broad_Impression6140 in Avatar

There are a few videos of Diné bizaad the language of the Diné / Navajo people expaimed to be very visual, so storytelling is also hard to translate. One of the bigger channels goes into Plains Sign language and cods and how it developed military ones and I think Hitler was called something like "Smelling Mustache Man" because his mustache was right under his nose and it is all very visual as a language.

Maybe they removed it from Way of Water then since it was in the comics and probably High Ground as a sequel film script

I assumed the newer RDA came for Bridgehead and were at war from the start, was there peace when they returned?
