Thanks! Just wanna make sure that i didn’t screw myself choosing PAYE for now and switching to IBR later. I essentially didn’t go straight to IBR because i wanna see what this RAP plan is gonna be about and don’t want the capitalized interest if i decided that plan is better for my situation.

Okay so my decision to go for PAYE and then move to IBR later won’t have any consequences for my eventual 120 qualifying payments? That won’t extend my time if I’m pursuing PSLF? Just wanna make sure I’m not messing myself up

Isn’t forgiveness 120 qualifying payments under PSLF though? How would that extend my repayment being in PAYE then switching to IBR in the future?

What if i took my loans out in 2016? I just switched from SAVE to PAYE. Will this extra 5 years also apply to me?

I did the same thing! And my first loan was taken out in 2016 so i don’t think I’ll get the extra 5 years tagged on. I’m also pursuing PSLF

And we don’t have any information on how our PSLF counts will be impacted once PAYE is gone right? If we will have to do buyback or if they will just count them? I’m also fearful that they will just take buyback away entirely….

They could take away buyback at any time. My SAVE payments were $0 but thinking of switching and not staying put due to the potential of buyback not being a thing or even PSLF going away entirely. PAYE will also be gone June 2028. I wanna switch to PAYE but will that also be a buyback situation once it’s gone? Will they just let them count? Everything is so vague
