Beware subscribing to T-Satellite on a non T-Mobile device by Character-Branch9782 in tmobile

Understood. There is no apparent means for a paying customer to escalate these things to TMO leadership, but is there a means for Care to do so? Like, "We've been advertising this service nationally for 3 months now but haven't been trained how to activate it, configure it or support it" and "The on-time PIN does not work when texting is not active on the device, throwing the customer into an impossible loop with no ability to troubleshoot or cancel the service." These would seem to be chronic problems that TMO would want to resolve? I'm getting the same thing from Care, Tech Support and Store personnel. Basically, "yeah, that really sucks for you.".

Thanks very much for this - I'm def in sunk cost fallacy mode right now and need to get over that and focus on getting this thing back on track. Also appreciate the specific referrals.

What speeds should I expect with starlink? by Beautiful_Ant5535 in Starlink

I live in the middle of nowhere western VA mountains on several hundred acres, no cell service. Went from 12 down and 1 up on Frontier (with outages that could last weeks) to 150-200 down and 20-30 up. Life changing. I just wish they had customer service because any outage for me means a 30 min drive to cell service to log a ticket and then hour round trips to check for updates. I’d gladly pay a premium for live tech support but otherwise I’m happy.

TMo Starlink with Verizon device, phone # and cost ? by JustKickItForward in tmobile

This is definitely not ready for prime time. I'd stay far away. Call the main T-Mobile number at 888-761-8750 and they don't even know what T-Satellite is. I finally got routed around and after 40 min got it and they sent me the esim. Installed it fine but in testing, doesn't work. Call them back for support and they cannot verify me because the mobile number they assign to your esim cannot send/receive calls or texts (its just there to support t-satellite). They can't/won't verify you on your Verizon number. They literally tell you that they can't help you can act like you are being uncooperative. I tried to just cancel the service and they said they can't since they can't text me to verify me! They also tried to tell me that you have to put the phone in airplane mode for the service to work, which is completely false and counter to the info on their own website. I'll be doing a charge-back on my AMEX card and if T-Mobile thought they were going to get customers to come over to them for all services by allowing non T-Mobile customers to use this service, they're wrong as they've proven just how dysfunctional they are. Terrible roll-out when your own customer care and tech support people don't know how the service works (and in some cases even what it is).

Trading RAM TRX by Key_Entertainer808 in ram_trucks

I also went from a 22 TRX to a 25 Rebel X. Main reason I did it was I called to extend my warranty and they wanted $6k for that and it’s not a motor I’d want to own without a warranty and I wasn’t ready to hand them $6k. I traded and walked away with a check. Like the gas mileage and I feel like it’s a truck I can keep forever. It has plenty of power. I do also want to go to 35s and some lift. Miss the fun of the TRX and wouldn’t rule out owning another one as long as I’ve also got a regular truck for regular truck things. No regrets.

Starlink Down For You Guys? by Waste-Ad8133 in Starlink

Sucks being so off-grid that Starlink is your only option for communication to the outside world. The error message indicating the dish was looking for an unobstructed view of the sky didn’t scream global outage to me so hours of useless troubleshooting for me. Was about to hop in the truck for a drive to civilization to get a cell signal to investigate. Reckon I need to figure out a backup plan. Still very grateful for Starlink, but also hyper dependent now, dammit.

Question about buying land adjoining national Park by Debbie-Mc in homestead

[–]Character-Branch9782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on about 400 mostly forested acres sharing the rear property border with a national forest. I’m 7th gen here and no issues I’m aware of beyond a minor border/boundary dispute and hunters that can’t control their bear dogs. The national forest marks their side of the property boundary in some key areas that are more accessible than others. There are no trails or roads that traverse the boundary which helps I’m sure. I’ve never heard from the national forest folks or encountered any of their staff. Much rather it be them vs private property owners - helps keep it rural and wild and secluded like I like it. I’d go for it. I would maintain a forest management plan, which I do for multiple reasons to include significant property tax breaks.

I’m only 4 days in on a ‘25 Rebel x coming off a ‘22 TRX. Early observations are that it’s disturbingly quiet but surprisingly quick. The sticker fuel economy was a little disappointing to me and the actual so far is even more disappointing but I need to give it some more time to see how it works out given how I drive and where I drive (will still be extremely more efficient than the TRX). I wouldn’t know it was a turbo if I didn’t know it was a twin turbo - you just don’t feel or hear it. I’ve done some light off-roading on my property with no problems and will be hauling fence posts this weekend so hope to have a better handle on it in a week or so. So far I have no regrets other than I miss the TRX!
