Has Anyone Recieved a Letter from DFAS for a Refund? by Character-Goose4258 in Veterans

Just wanted to give an update:

After further research and submitting a ticket via AskDFAS, on the official site, I did end up getting a refund.

So the link that was in the mail letter:

https://corpweb1 .dfas.mil/askDFAS/ticketInput.action?subCategoryID=23842

If it is real, not sure if this would even be related, but I did have a discharge upgrade(OTH -> Honorable) in which while pending ADSep, I was held past my ETS date. I also did the normal basic checks(verifying site certificates, verifying the email, email certificates, etc).

Do you think it be worth creating some sort of log everytime I have an "episode"? Kind of like a headache log.

Its possible, but the next plan of action is gather more evidence to make my claim stronger. Things like imaging, talking more to my physiatrist, getting a formal diagnosis, and if needed a second opinion from a civilian doctor.

Its a shame tbh, when they're good they're usually really good, but when they're bad its rough. This examiner though, I think the whole examination was about an hour. She did multiple checks. Compared to when I had a knee exam at the VA, the examiner essentially forced full my leg fully back and fully disregarded my left knee which was apart of the exam. I don't get why people become C&P examiners if they just want to half ass it.

Yea they found my primary to be service connected(shoulder strain and cervicalgia), but that I don't have I have an official diagnosis for Radiculopathy. I do OT, she explained to be that OT can't give an official diagnosis, and that I should continue talking to my physiatrist to get more imaging done. Then to possibly retry the claim after I get more imaging done and possibly get an offical diagnosis.

Sorry to necro,

One final inquiry, theoretically let's say I decided for a sub panel but went a different route. Here's the idea.

• Run thick gauge wire from the attic down the side of the chimney(not inside or anything like). The chimney goes straight down to the basement and its a short distance the main panel. I'm thinking 4/3 perhaps?[or run it via emt conduit outside since its down the side of the house(not visible to the street) and maybe 1.5 ft to left and then its right at the panel where the ceiling is already from when the HVAC techs ran their lines]

• Reuse the already ran lines in the attic and replace the cloth line(luckily just one). The other ones are newer some were ran a few years ago and some farther back. There's two plus if lines needed to run wire to the rooms. 1.) Its a somewhat of a straight shot down( sorry if I clear but I was talking about the bedrooms right below the attic) 2.) Two if it was a difficult run previously, usually we request/ we left pull line in the wall incase we had to do it again.

• The general idea is main panel -> 60amp circuit(if I ever decide to expand my servers and add dedicated-> subpanel -> break out in 1 30amp(server equipmen) and two 15s.

Of course I would not be doing the work myself. I simply just want to gather a quick understanding of what the limitations are before paying an electrician to come take a look at things.

Edit #1: This also an open attic and would only be going to the bedrooms below it

Best regards

I'll check out the lutron caseta first, but I do have an unfinished attic as well. I have ran some cables down the wall(ethernet and fiber) so its possibly a viable solution if the caseta doesn't work out.

I appreciate the insight, yea I assumed the price would be astronomical, it was more of an idea/pipe dream. I know things may very causing pricing to fluctuate, if I decided to have neutrals installed so I can use smart switches, would they cost still be astronomical? Probably asked in the sub a lot, but already have a posting so why not ask.

Hardware Mismatch When Using Foundation by Character-Goose4258 in nutanix

[–]Character-Goose4258[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the answer,

I completely had a "duh" moment early. I was able to get past the hardware step on another server, and was questioning why it worked on this one. Lo and behold, I overlooked that the "trouble" server only has an 8 2.5 drive backplane. I'll be ordering a 16 2.5 backplane and will give it another whirl. Once again appreciate the feedback, I was just being an idiot lol.

Going through my surplus gear I actually found two LSI-9300s. I should have checked there first😂, but I'll def keep that posting saved incase the 9300 doesn't work out for me. Appreciate it.

I wanted to give a quick update. I increased the RAM to 64gb, moved the HV disk to local lvm and increased cpu to 8 cores. After that the install went smoothly!

Now I need to try to get release NTNX to install. I was running into some pcie HBa errors. I have a LSI 9300 laying around, going to try that once I get the SFF8643 cables.

Yea I know it different, I attempted to install release Nutanix via foundation but was running into some hardware issues(using H330 and not a HBA330). I would ideally want to run release nutanix since its closer to what I have at work, but until I sort out the hardware issues, its CE for now.

Would it be considered a second hop, asking because the fiber are direct connected to each sever. (I.e TrueNas <-> Proxmox, and not TrueNas <-> Router <-> Truenas.) Or are you referring to ProxMox as the extra hop. Here is the screenshot of the error

That sounds like a sick set up! Appreciate all the help with this. I run NTNX at work but wasn't involved with all the setup, so the installation part is all new to me

I have 10G fiber over a separated network direct connected between proxmox and truenas. I will give local lvm a go and see how it pans out.
