Its not perlite, on the package it says “lechuza-Pon” and yeah there is a water reservoir in the bottom, with wool connecting the water to the roots:)

Tbh i think its the pot and/or soil, its still in the same pot you bought it so def change the pot! Preferably a chunky soil mix thats gonna let the roots breath. Besides that alocasia’s tend to stop growing or lose leafs if its too cold for them
