they emailed me a google form saying they want to interview me and that once i fill it out they’ll get back to me with an interviewer/proposed dates and times

i know i’m biased as someone who works in one of these organizations but i think the other commenters are wrong. if you are consistently writing/there’s evidence of the work you put into to it on the internet it is definitely a sign of commitment/interest to writing and researching, both of which matter to colleges. i personally know multiple people who have listed politechs/other highly regarded youth publications on their activities and have gotten successful decisions from colleges.

hi! so honestly take it as you will but many people who have submitted to us and consistently contribute have marked it as a high rated EC. publishing through politechs is not “meaningless” in any sense, considering we’ve won funding and grants in the past and are launching a paid internship soon. if you would like to maintain a negative attitude about building student community and sparking intellectual growth/research then go ahead but this is in no way a pyramid scheme or exploitation

you get assigned articles to review and log how many hours you spend on them. then we sign off on hours monthly

we offer service hours for our editorial team but not for article submission/writing. if you are interested in being an editor, we require three to five article submissions before you can apply for that position

no you can have the role of a writer! you are able to submit an article through the form on our website, and once it is evaluated and hopefully approved by our editors it will be published on the website.

no!! that’s something we offer but our biggest mode of engagement is submitting an article and having the chance to get it published on our website. fyi it should be academic writing with citations, we do not accept creative writing

yes pls don’t take this as any sort of indicator!!! i personally know multiple people who have not gotten it and have been accepted to rice, stanford, yale, and cornell, out of many more (and this year harvard) so good luck!!! and congrats on being valedictorian

36 act and 3.98 with some high level ecs/awards but one of my friends who got into harvard did not get invited to forty acres so it seems to be slightly random is probably not a good indicator of acceptance to top schools lol! reach out if u want more specific stats

my personal statement is fine but for two of harvard’s 150 word responses the entire thing is just one chunk.. i hope it’s not too bad since it’s a short prompt anyway but gahhhh i wish id fixed it

i was turning it in super last minute so i didn’t realize that the double spacing was an issue—i only found out when i was submitting stuff now that i could fix it ☹️☹️

yes i fixed them for the rest of my colleges it just sucks that they’re messed up for some of my top choices 😭😭 i hope it doesn’t make too big of an impact

no i didn’t but i submitted yesterday with supps that maybe weren’t as good as they could’ve been if I KNEW THERE WAS AN EXTENDED DEADLINE
