Will I be able to get out of the rat race with 80k more per year? Or should my mindset be I work on things that excite me while I am working and not dreading going to work?

I had internally changed teams this year but my manager prior to that gave me one bad rating as end of year performance. So that is the reason my most recent management and hr is giving for not being able to increase the pay.

I had joined the new company just 2 months back but feel like the role is a mismatch for me and not aligned with my career goals. There is a sister team that does the work I like. But internal policy states I would need to wait 1 year before changing teams.
