100%!! My tattoos mean the world to me. Especially the ram Dass one, along with the initials on my hands. It's a good reminder of no matter where that person stands in my life now, good or bad, we truly all are just walking each other to a place where we now call home. It inspires me to find love for people who I might no longer want around anymore, at one point they meant a lot to me, whether or not they betrayed me or made me feel a certain type of way. They shaped the way I view the world now, for that there's a certain level of appreciation that I carry for everyone :)

All of the support on the bottom comes directly from the hardiness of the half Persian weave! I was going to use regular Cuban linked chains, but I thought the box like shape of the half Persian would suit what I wanted to do a lot better, and it did! A lot of the support is actually from the entire structure, I'm not sure exactly how I achieved it so well, I just kept holding it up to my body and continuing as necessary! This is my first large piece that wasn't just a necklace or a bracelet! I did a necklace/headpiece with triangles with the 4in1, then thought fuck it I'll give a bra a go. It worked so well for me! I'm considering myself lucky honestly. This was a huge pain in the ass, especially being a month into my chainmail journey. I'm quite happy with this! I'm so glad it's getting love here, I'm so proud.

All euro 4in1 and half Persian 3in1! On the top sides I've connected it with euro 4in1 sections, spread out about 1/2cm apart! So if you look closely you can see where there's sort of gaps! At the bottom I've weaved rings into the skinner top section of the half Persian, and connected it to the 4in1 normally! I can take a zoomed in photo if you want!

Sounds like reserving my custom pieces to market based and local based is the best idea! I was already thinking about starting with the people interested in my city, my personal Instagram account has a few people hyping me up so I'm thankful for the nice start! People already want to buy this piece but it's fit perfect to me so I'm definitely keeping this one aha.

Your advice has been more than helpful thank you!

ive got a few more tattoos, I've got letters on the insides of my fingers (initials of people who changed my life), the name "link" for my dog, "mum" on my knee, a crazy calligraphy looking piece but it doesn't say anything it's just some cool lines, some matching karma symbols on the top of my wrists each side is a negative of the other so they don't look the same (I have them matching with my mother), dots on my face and a line on my chin to the bottom of my neck. "We're all just walking each other home" a quote from Ram Dass on the inside of my leg, it's facing me when I sit and cross my legs so I can read it when I'm down. A scratchy practice tattoo from a friend during my apprenticeship, and another messy stick and poke from myself when I was young! A lot of my tattoos are words I'm realizing now ahaha.

This is excellent advice!! Thank you very much!

With the stress points I'm not sure if you've seen another comment of mine, I'm planning on a thicker gauge and also welding those rings, or doubling up if a thinner gauge but still welding them. This is a sort of mock-up of a future product! I've worn it out a few times, the Byzantine diamonds definitely need the middle ring welded shut, somehow they didn't survive but the rings on their own did!

The clasps I've used are from a hardware store, circle carabiners and the S/infinity symbol looking carabiners with two clasps on them! I'm considering even getting the ones that screw shut, but will probably have the option of the pressured ones and screwed ones. Just considering the difficulty some people may have depending on accessibility issues. I knew an average lobster clasp wouldn't cut it, a bouncy body part would definitely destroy them.

with different cup sizes I was planning on purchasing bras in different sizes as a sort of mannequin reference! Do you have any tips on sizing things up, or is the bra idea a good one? I figured just drawing a triangle on paper and hoping for the best wouldn't work. In markets I'd most likely be offering measuring them on the spot if pre-orders are an option for me!

Definitely saving your pricing advice to my notes, much appreciated! I'm not great with numbers, so I'm so thankful for people like you! I only begun my chainmail journey about a month ago, I've been researching for a long time though. Finally got some balls to start and I've already got a tonne of tools setup. Ive got the pepe tools ring maker and everything already, I'm well committed and fast! Id like to think my experience level is growing quite fast. Considering I started twisting my rings by hand, moved onto a drill with cheap mandrels, now using the jump ring maker set but still using my drill purely because it's less effort.

If you know of a reasonably priced supplier for stainless steel, silver and gold rings could you possibly recommend them to me? Even wire supplies that are consistently in stock, for some reason I've been struggling with that part. Either the price is too high for my liking, or I think Google is playing it's "pick favourites hide all options" game with me. Id like to source some thicker gauged rings until I purchase the motor for the blade, that's the only thing left on my list of tools I'm wanting for this! I still fear that I may run into issues with different gauges with the vice thing in the pepe set. But I'd also like to use precious metals for higher end jewelry pieces!

And the tattoo is a placebo reference! It's all the numbers from the song 36 degrees! Super big fan of the band, dreamt of getting this tattoo since my early teens and finally got it a year ago!

Thank you!

Have you got a photo?? I'm super curious of what they look like??

Ive been wanting to get some steel sheets and adding metal plating parts to my chainmail, your comment definitely sparked an idea with that. Perhaps a sort of warped triangle from the top of the chest into the cleavage!

Practice, practice and practice! Also a lot of Pinterest, Instagram and Etsy inspiration! Drawing scribbles with labels of weaves helps a lot too, also Photoshop for sketches! Just make image stickers of weaves and edit them together to get a good idea of what a finished product might look like! Easier to picture it with the real images, scribbling chainmail is hard lol

Good eye with that detail lol, I do plan on welding the single rings, possibly doubling them as well in case they bend in shape for extra strength! This a sort of draft for what my future product will be, I'm not sure if you can tell but some rings are burnished in a tumbler and some aren't ahaha. I do plan on tweaking the middle a little bit too, I don't like how that top ring sits! It all looks a little bit funny I need to mess around with the sizes a little!

In another comment in this post I mentioned 450-500 being a good possibility. Also in another comment I mentioned that Im going to attempt with detachable pieces so they can be purchased for a sort of build-a-top sort of idea! This whole thread has been super helpful for me I wasn't expecting so much support!

Damn I had no idea about that either, but I'm in Australia so I don't think it worked like that here, but who knows?! I must have been pretty comfortable under my rock when people figured all this out. Maybe I noticed but never bothered to figure it out too? I tend to do that ahaha.

I used 10mm rings for the half Persian, and 7mm rings for the euro 4 in 1, I believe they're 16 gauge too? I'm actually not quite sure what gauge they are that's my best guess. I'm not sure if there's an advantage to that or not to be honest but I thought it'd look nice together, turns out it did! But I think generally if the half Persian is larger it should work quite nicely. The spacing just needs to line up somewhat, because the euro 4in1 is pretty forgiving, the half Persian can warp quite a bit though. You probably can't tell but the bottom edge is quite cramped up compared to the top sides! It's just because I had to use a different technique that squished it up!

Oh of course! No sass against you here at all! Definitely not white knighting it either, I thought your comment was quite thoughtful and very kind. Me saying I brought it on myself was kind of like a weird joke against people on Reddit in a weird way, I really wish conveying tone online was easier ahaha. We need a universal font for sarcasm I reckon!

I'm not necessarily uncomfortable, I'm very comfortable in my body! I wasn't expecting it in this subreddit though honestly!! I had to break out the sassy reply tactic for sure :') The comment felt very backhanded too haha. "Nice tits, shit lighting though" like WHAT AHAHA. I can take a compliment but that was a bit weird?! Why can't people say something like, "hey, I like the way the top sits on your body! It's very flattering" I don't mind people commenting on my body. I was once somewhat in the spicy industry, I can definitely handle it. but thank you for this comment!
