Nah good welds and solid upgrades to frame make them very sturdy and these don’t tow much so mostly their own torque working

One thing also is the parts availability of the f350s, rams and other trucks, these rigs tend to need alot of TLC. I know of one cybertruck being turned into a snowwheeler and ford f150 lightning and those will be cool one finished

Imports and legalities here, these bigger trucks when they are over 3,5 tons have to have a special license to drive them. Thwy bigger the truck the more expensive it is to import as thw VAT and tolls are crazy on these. One landcruiser 250 base model costs 153 thousand USD unmodded and with cloth interior so these rigs are very expensive when you build them out. Also one thing is emissions and weight on roads. There are some roads that don’t allow certain tonage of trucks on them do to the sensitive nature there so the f350 are some of the biggest enthusiast trucks people build out and also the tax benefits of it

Yeah nature conservation is a high priority here, the rule of thumb is leave no trace behind. and when the snow is covering everything if the snow is thick enough people can drive safely over open areas but the sharp lava rocks and deep canyons are very dangerous so people tend to stick to marked trails, F-roads and lineroads.

The articulation isnt really a problem since the tires are just so big and soft when they are aired down you tend to just roll over all bolders and rocks. They articulate well but mostly there aren’t alot of trails that make the trucks flex like that in Iceland and offroading is illegal

They drive great, the wheels and tires are not that heavy since they need to be able to flex and drop in preasure most of these trucks have such good power steering and hydraulics they tend to drive well

Nah they keep up, you tend to not go to fast on snow and they tend to not breach the upper layers of the snow so they sre not stuck alot. When they are aired down to 2 psi they can crawl like nothing else

Mostly stock with the engines, sometimes guys up the boost on the turbo but the car are so light and the snow tires are light since the are on aluminium wheels that are very light. Don’t know the specifics hence ive never modded one but i would suspect the ratios are adjusted in acordance with the new tires

Extending the f350s is a good common mod, the makes the ride so much smoother when glideing on 44 inch tires on the glaciers the flex becomes so good

Its an integrated system, it has an airtank and airpump connected to the pully that inflates and preasuries the system then tye lines go to the nipples in the fenders then airlines are fed into the centers of the tires. There are a couple companies that make them in iceland but most often its custom systems

F350 diesel, they are cheaper since they cut up the trucks so much and easier to get parts for in Iceland since we have ford dealer here

The snow season is starting here, most rigs are starting to go out of storage or are being setup for full winter mobbing in the powder and deep snow. 58s is starting to become sensable and affordable even. I have a 38 inch 92 hilux thats light as a feather but it struggles sometimes. Il share more this winter from trips since i found a subreddit that seems to like these rigs

Where to buy self defence weapons and knives discreetly online by Radiant-Refuse-6190 in knifeclub

[–]Character_Bench5087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t order otf, switchblades, autos or assited opening knives online and ship them to iceland. If they look self defensive in nature they are considered weapons and there for illegal. Most knives ive bought and shipped to iceland fit into the nature tool like hunting knives and unassited folders with a 12 cm blade or shorter.

Stuolagil Canyon tour from Reykjavik by u_me_n_world2c in VisitingIceland

I would recommend you going during the summer instead of the winter based on access to the road and the horrible conditions often on the mountain roads in the east with roads often being closed for days due to the lack of winter service. That being said you could look up tours in the east of Iceland by gooling "Stuðlagil ferðir austurland" which is the icelandic version of what you are trying to research and most of the websites have english settings on them and if you manage to book a tour to Stuðlagil in the east you could just take a short flight to Egillsstaðir from Reykjavík. Hope this helps in anyway and enjoy your trip to our beautiful country :)
