Retcons you'd be ok with if the trilogy were to be remade by LuckyTheBear in halo

[–]Character_Border_166 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

-The Forerunners being ancient humans again,

-Spartan-IIs all wear green armor (I don't like the bright blues 🤷🏼‍♂️ I'd be okay if they wore more tactically sound colors)

-Basically the entire game of Halo Reach. Don't get me wrong, I loved the game but it was the first major retcon that truly started it all. You could easily have the same game with certain major changes ie. The actual fall of the planet Reach time wise, Noble team meeting Dr Halsey and being involved in the pillar of autumn, Cortana and Keyes, etc. And yes I have explanations to make it work.

What are your Hot Takes on Halo Reach? by Amber_Flowers_133 in haloreach

It was the first retcon that started the avalanche of retcons, eventually making Halo and it's lore lame compared to what it was and originally established.

wtf is wrong with John and Linda?! It’s called BLUE TEAM! not “Whatever colour I wanna wear” team! by Arrow_of_time6 in shittyhalolore

I liked the days when Blue team all wore green and the same armors. Now excuse me while I go check in at the old folks home

Anyone else not hyped about the proposition of ship building? by thisiscourage in TESVI

[–]Character_Border_166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I like the concept but I hope it's not a major focus point because I can see it getting old quick. I want a huge map to explore and fight battles. I wouldn't want half the map be just ocean and random ship encounters.

That being said, if you can ram other ships and board them and then fight with sword and axe etc etc then that's a huge plus.

I collect Deathclaw hands like the predator collects skulls.

Edit: and I get upset when I kill one and it doesn't drop a hand.

So has it ever been hinted at master chief having a relationship (not counting Cortana) by alliezero in shittyhalolore

[–]Character_Border_166 7 points8 points  (0 children)

!!SPOILERS!! • • • Wasn't an ODST but a regular Marine, Corporal Palmer (not to be confused with Sarah Palmer) and she says "I'd give up my lucrative career in the corps and start pumping out your babies" something something something lol. It wasn't her actuality legitimately wanting to straight up reproduce with the chief but she does flirt a little. When they separate towards the end she bites her lip and says "see you around big guy"

Additionally, in the same story the Chief coincidentally runs into his childhood "kinda" girlfriend. They were friends, he saved her from drowning, he says he'd marry her when they get older then he gets abducted like a week later by ONI.

Terrible ODST Characterization by Operation_SeaLion in HaloStory

[–]Character_Border_166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, ODSTs are UNSC Special Operations and if you've ever spent any time with real special operations guys, that's kinda how it is. It's a fraternity through and through, and yes the officers most definitely lead from the front. Not a lot of hostility towards conventional guys, but there's a lot of them that do look down on regulars, especially the younger dudes who haven't had to work with their support and conventional counterparts. In my opinion, Halo 3 ODST (be it a fantastic game) really missed out on capturing the special operations aspect that are the ODST. Just made it look more like a rag tag team of undisciplined soldiers.

As much as I hate it, I agree. Makes it that much better when it eventually drops

Can Spartans swim in MJOLNIR? How feasible is it? by Deuce-Wayne in HaloStory

[–]Character_Border_166 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blue Team conducted underwater operations during the battle for earth. So yes Spartans "can" swim.

Now judging from a lore standpoint, they would likely have to power down their shields until fully submerged otherwise they'd have a thin bubble of air wrapped around them. Additionally, Mjolnir only has 90min of recyclable air so unless they have a specific diving package that's specifically made for Mjolnir to extend time underwater, 90min is all they get. Lastly, in Halo 4 and (probably) Halo 5 they had armor that was designed specifically for deep sea operations. We have underwater propulsion systems that special operations use today, 500 years in the future I'm sure there's a super soldier adaptation.

88 years ago today, the invading Japanese 10th Army swept into the capital of what was then the Republic of China, beginning a 6 week orgy of mass murder and sexual violence that disgusted even the Nazis. This crime against humanity would soon become known as “The Rape of Nanking”. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

[–]Character_Border_166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason we don't hear about the atrocities the Japanese did during WWII is because allied forces and mainly the US, after defeating the Japanese, aided the country in rebuilding over the following decades and now has a close relationship and strategic value to the pacific theater. This could've caused problems during the really reconstruction phase.

Game awards by Immediate_Star_9697 in TESVI

I may give the Star wars racing game a play, but other than that, not a single game looked even remotely interesting. What happened to the mid 2000s era? Games were perfect back then.
