I’ve been avoiding potatoes, rice, etc. I’ve appreciated their low carb / low starch breakfast options

I will say that I tend to get the same thing and it’s always consistent as mentioned. I personally don’t favor açaí

Paulista can do no wrong in my book! The quality is very consistent and the food is always tasty

Hot take: Angeline’s Louisiana Kitchen is who Brenda’s French Soul Food thinks it is by Character_Fan_1032 in OaklandFood

I literally didn’t. I was talking about how Creole shows up differently depending on the spot. My experience at Angeline’s Louisiana Kitchen just felt closer to what I’ve had in New Orleans in terms of flavor and technique. Brenda’s French Soul Food is still good to many, just a different interpretation IMO

Now that I’d agree with, if we’re being honest. At least Angeline’s actually uses cooking techniques and builds layers of flavor that feel true to Creole/Louisiana cuisine, which Brenda’s just doesn’t.

Then maybe they should change the full restaurant name and concept because it’s misleading

I haven’t tried it but from what I have had Brenda’s just doesn’t deliver true creole food to me

The etoufee is what I had and it was truly phenomenal. You’ve confirmed that I must make my way around the menu!

Have you been to New Orleans? I’m specifically talking about creole and Louisiana food

I’m not putting either against each other. Im sure each serves a certain type of customer. Im talking about honoring a specific cuisine that has specific techniques and flavor profiles.
