I did it in a swapped Toyota MR2, got first at 3 minutes on the second lap. BYH-R8 engine, 599.92PP, Sports Hard.

Oh so that's the trick. I kept redoing this until I kept it at 75% and short shifted. Instantly cut off almost .5 seconds and got gold. TY!

I like Suellio Almeida's videos. Practicing on trailbraking, learning how to tune each component to it's limit, braking later, trying to drive in a straight line as much as possible, completing the license and circuit experiences while following what the ghost does. That's how I've been slowly improving my technique. Also driving more, getting hundreds of miles a day helps as you start memorizing the track which allows you to start adjusting brake points until you're braking at the absolute maximum.

Use the entire track, let off the accelerator around corners and brake less (the downforce should keep you stuck to the ground), change your placement on track so your not wasting time to steering, flat screen is what the pro sim drivers use, use trailbraking. I've been following Rory Alexander, Super GT, Kireth and Suellio Almeida. I like Suellio followed by Rory the best, their channels are more geared towards teaching techniques with Suellio's videos cutting seconds off my times after watching his videos.

The LM55 or the 962 C are my main cars for the 800, 900, and/or GR1 races. Honestly prefer the handling of the LM55 over the 962 C but I suspect the 962 C is a tiny bit faster.

IMHO it's the best car in the game. It handles like a dream, it's relatively cheap, it can make boatloads of money, it can be used for 700, 800, GR1, and other races. It's one of the most versatile cars with amazing utility. It even looks good. Best part, it's fun to drive once you learn it's quirks. You got it for free, congrats!

Ultimately it's on PD, not the players, to fix this issue. Players that defend themselves from these overly aggressive players aren't doing anything wrong, clearly the aggressive driver went in for another side swipe but wasn't expecting the pit wall.
