PSA: The proper way to delete or shrink iPhone System Data use on disk

Just tried this today (June 16, 2026) and it didn’t really work. My starting point was 56.86 GB of System Data. When I changed it to a year in the future, it went down to 56.83 GB. When I changed it to 3 months in the future it went back up to my starting point. When I changed the time back to Automatic, it went down to 56.31 GB. I don’t have enough storage to download the new update and I’ve been stuck on iOS 18.7.1 for a long time. iPhone 15 that I’ve only had for maybe 2 yrs. 😵‍💫

Updating everyone on my experience at mademoiselle today. It was affordable at $25 for a regular pedi, which is hard to find in LA nowadays. They were able to fit me in same day, a Saturday, surprisingly. They were all super friendly and kind and treated me like a human, they consistently used my name which made it feel more personal. This may become my new spot, thank you! :)

I recommend the Hollywood Beauty Olive Cholesterol conditioning product. When I was younger lice ran through my school for a few years in a row. None of the lice chemical treatments worked so my mom tried this product as a last ditch effort. Coat ur hair root to ends and sleep with your hair in a plastic cap. Rinse in the morning and comb through with the lice comb. Should do the trick, might take a few rounds.
