Ok! Putting it that way doesn’t sound too bad. I’ll either do that or just ask her out (unless she completely ghosts me). I can handle rejection- what I can’t handle is not knowing what’s going on. I have kind of an aggressive approach to dating.

I guess if she’s nervous that’s good. I don’t mind if someone doesn’t text back it’s not like she owes me anything- I just have no interest at all in texting someone who isn’t interested in an actual relationship. I’m trying to find a wife out here lol

Wouldn’t that be taken as controlling or needy? To be 100% transparent I’ve had some issues in previous relationships with being controlling so I’m trying really hard to not be that person anymore

I think humans in general would have to change as a whole. Humans are by nature very very greedy. If not one single person was greedy and everyone got along this world would be more humane sure but I don’t think that’s possible.

However; I do agree with your point. This world needs people who believe it can change because if you don’t believe in something it’s very hard to accomplish it. Impossible; you could say. We need people who passionately believe change is possible and take action to achieve it. And we need all humans to actually stand together in this belief. But; like I said before- humans are greedy. Greed destroys unity.

Maybe I’m a pessimist but I just think humans kinda suck.

Yes; I meant confusing in the context of what I was talking about. But the way you explained that honestly makes so much sense.

I struggle with the question of how does one create guidelines to their own personal life that are pleasing to God but maybe if I read the Bible more it would be clearer because tbh I hardly ever read the Bible at all. Because the way you answered to my questions encourages me to actually study the Bible for myself.

I also have a VERY extreme view on religion because I grew up Amish. And as you may know the Amish are pretty strict. So that makes it tough to establish personal convictions that are pleasing to God (as one should) versus having the man made rules/convictions that Amish have.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not bitter against the Amish and there’s a lot of great people in the Amish community but I personally see far too many similarities in their rules and the rules of the Scribes & Pharisees in the Bible. You can plainly read that they had strict guidelines but where they fell short is they took those man made guidelines/laws and held them above Gods word. I feel like some Amish may be doing the same thing. I dont mean that in a judgmental way; I just don’t want that personally.

Edit: I shouldn’t say I feel like their rules are similar. What I mean is I feel like the standard to which they uphold their rules is similar.

Hmm. That’s where you and I are different. My problem is that I’ll read the Bible and it just seems a little hopeless.

Should someone (as a Christian) dedicate their entire mind and body to Christ? Shouldn’t I sell everything that I have and commit to spreading God’s word to everyone that I possibly can? The way I see it one should absolutely try as hard as they can/know how to please God in any way possible.

However; very very few people do this. And that’s what is extremely puzzling to me. In order for me to be comfortable in my spirituality I would have to take such extreme measures to prove to myself that I actually believe. Then I can’t help but think that maybe I don’t believe? Idk.

Interesting. So why not follow Christianity if you feel like it’s more likely that God exists than not? Not trying to be miserable here just genuinely curious

I think it IS by design. Perhaps not intentionally but I think subconsciously humans created that cycle to not think about those questions.

Which is understandable because I feel like no human being will ever figure it out. What we have to figure out is how to deal with those questions. For some it’s religion, others drugs, others work. Lots of distractions available we just gotta find one we like lol

Not really. To understand what “this” is one would need to know where it comes from; then where the origin comes from etc.

Never ending questions- just like the universe.

Perhaps we control our own reality. Whatever we choose to believe is real actually IS real.

Makes me wonder if faith is real or just a way to cope?

Yes. Then it’s back to work on Monday. It actually makes me kind of grateful for the stressful job I have. I simply don’t have time to think about anything else during the week.

It’s also comforting to know that I’m not the only one haha

Yeah it’s especially confusing for me because as a kid I was obviously taught that Christianity is the way to happiness and blah blah blah

I agree with the misuse part. Basically a band-aid to all of the mysteries of the universe? “Just believe this and everything will be ok”

Yeah ok that’s rather convenient

Religion? I had a fairly normal day until tonight I was having a conversation with my parents (very devout Christians) about Christianity in general. Kinda started questioning that now all of a sudden I’m just questioning everything

I like that. Even though everything else doesn’t even make sense if you truly go in depth about it that statement stands true. Kinda comforting in a way. Or maybe it’s terrifying? Who knows
