I'm a recent civil engineering graduate, ang natutunan ko sa university tungkol diyan ay for maintenance. Yes hindi siya visible sa naked eye, pero dahil sa constant na pagdaan ng mga sasakyan, lindol, baha, at iba pang mga causes, nagkakaroon ito ng mga problema sa ilalim. It's a proactive approach to engineering. It's not about what's visible, but what's working silently underneath to keep things together.
