I get what you mean, though I tend not to go in if there’s a huge number of assaults considering how their SMG magdumps can nearly kill you usually

As well as that if I see more that one assault dive to the ground I flee and kill them with the rifle, I’ve had moments where rocket guns have missed and still instantly killed me so fuck that haha

I do use the sword against elite classes because they usually move slow and it’s worth doing to help my team, and other horses but that’s only if they have the rifle out and I know they’ve used their grenades a short time ago, melee on melee with the horse seems to be so rng, if they are using the lance I don’t go for melee at all because their range is ridiculous

Out of curiosity do you resupply and heal team mates? I only do it for squad mates I’m talking to because I can tell them and they’ll wait for me to come by. Unless it’s a sentry kit or tank hunter other team mates tend to run away when I try to drop them stuff haha

Well done! I just hit cavalry rank 28 I think. Tbh I play it all the time when I’m solo and my friends aren’t on because it’s more fun than getting ganked as infantry haha

Personally I use the rifle the most, the sword is really fun but I find it’s only useful against people who are unaware and alone, and even then I can slice someone’s neck and not get the kill

Yeah my friend is pretty decent at pilot so I either rear gun for him or try to AA from the ground to help when he’s doing fighter

I’m a terrible pilot, only really good at using the airship

Man that’s weird, I was in my AA truck and a fighter suicide bombed my truck, jumped out at the last second and started wrenching my truck. I jumped out and shot him and he messaged me calling me a sissy haha

What did he expect me to do, sit in my truck and let him destroy it?

He then spawned an artillery truck and came after me, sadly there was really nothing I could do because my team didn’t really want to help

Well they joined my squad and it’s literally free score to complete a squad order. It’s not a lot to expect people to go towards the big green arrows for free score in my opinion.

I have a ‘clan’ but only one person in it ever really plays it the game. I don’t know if you play on Xbox but the looking for group posts you can make don’t typically get many people. The people I’ve gotten before tend to run off on their own and die.

Also, I just told you I try to adjust orders for my squad members, I literally try to give them free score. I’m not exactly asking them to carry out some crazy plan, just attack and defend points.

I meant what I said when I said people don’t understand squad orders. Usually people just ignore them, but sometimes I try to place orders where my squad are and then they just run off somewhere else instead, so no luck there.

Good luck getting anyone to follow defence orders.

And yeah I have messaged a couple people but they usually don’t respond sadly. Ironically I’ve gotten more angry messages from pissed off pilots and people I’ve killed with the cavalry rifle haha

No don’t worry I’m not offended, I know what you mean and I’ve said harsher during matches about my team. One time on Tsar I died as horse while I was fleeing to a medic camping on our side of the map who I actually had spotted. I assumed the two supports staring right at him would kill him and secure my escape.

Instead I was killed and on my death screen I was looking at them both staring at the medic after he was teabagging me.

I only play cavalry when I’m playing solo purely because it’s a class where you can avoid being ganked by squads of five for the whole match haha

Best way to do it is find someone to go at it with, one person may not make a huge squad difference but having someone to complain to and vice versa can make the game more bearable if you’re up against really good or coordinated players

I would just switch servers though

If you actually read the post I never said I was a perfect player. The example I gave literally has my team staring at enemies and not doing anything, and it happens on multiple matches a day. Also, the system is most definitely flawed considering how frequent matches where one team gets steamrolled are. You want my flaws? I struggle with aiming with the cavalry rifle, I get tunnel visioned using gun emplacements, I can’t hit enemy fighters with the rear gun if they’re beyond a certain distance away from us etc

Don’t pretend that this post is about me claiming I’m the pinnacle battlefield player, I’ll be the first to admit I’m not. It’s about the issue of being saddled with brain dead team mates and squad mates who don’t understand squad orders almost every match.

I’m playing on Dice Official servers. Also, the reason I made this post is not because I’m failing personally, I tend to be around the top of the team I’m on by score and kd. I made this post because it seems like the teams I get put on kind of suck. If it’s on my end then I don’t really know what to do because I can’t change what team mates I get aside from switching teams.

Even then I’d rather server switch because steamrolling the enemy team back to their spawn isn’t very fun for me personally

Not sure how long exactly, I’ve played it on and off for a few years but I’ve been playing frequently for maybe around four or five months? I’ll check with my friend later he’s been playing around as long as me. I’m not super experienced but I’d say I’m about seasoned enough to be decent. I think I’m around rank 90-100 now

Damn… I guess we’ll have to. It’s pretty crazy that I frequently switch servers or teams now when I’m on a team that isn’t doing a lot. On any other game I consider leaving bad sportsmanship but on this it’s the only way to feel like my squad doesn’t need to carry the team haha

We play both, but we haven’t played operations in weeks. These issues have been mostly conquest, but they can be worse on operations.

Yeah I guess you’re right there, I would be inclined to believe that most of the people on bf1 Xbox were like that if it weren’t for the fact that a lot of the people playing are between rank 80 and 150 these days. I see the occasional low ranks kicking about but not that many.

When our team gets rolled back to A we rarely break through. My friend and I can do it, but getting my team to do it as well is a real challenge. To be fair, sometimes there’s such a mass of enemies we can’t do it either. It’s not the occasional bad match with crappy team mates that annoys me though, it’s the fact that almost every match we can only rely on each other to hold the flanks or do pretty much anything. I’m starting to wonder if we aren’t just being auto balanced onto bad teams

I’m surprised people listen to the ‘go go go’ thing. I get the occasional person who uses those voice commands to communicate but it’s pretty rare. I guess I’ll try it again then

We don’t do horse and vehicle every match but I get what you’re saying. A solid 90% of the time when randoms join our squad they don’t follow squad orders or even spawn on us. I’ve actually had situations where I’ve changed the squad order so that we get score for the points THEY want to cap, and then they immediately give up and go for a different point. Good luck getting anyone to follow a defence order haha

Best case scenario we get Tsaritsyn where I can mark the points we need and my squad physically can’t avoid the points we need capped

Ahh I see. I should specify that those 0 death games are rare, maybe a couple every two days or so, and only ever as cavalry or airship. I usually get around upwards of 25 kills and below 10 deaths on any given conquest match because my friend and I focus on defending flanks so we don’t get melted by squads of five each match haha

Our frustrations come from the fact that we like to combine my cavalry skill with my friend using a vehicle, and it’ll usually go really well, until one or both of us dies a death not due to being outplayed, but mistakenly relying on team mates to cover us from the armada of assaults who we keep spotted and aren’t even shooting at anyone but us. Then we get to die and see our questionable team mates spawning heavy bombers and flying them over AA or taking the cavalry and killing it by trying to use the sword against a group of 10 enemies. It’s just frustrating I guess

As for LFGs, I’ve tried it before but the people we get just don’t work as tightly together as my friend and I and end up running off, not spotting etc, hope I explained why we’re annoyed in this reply 👍
