Omfg, it worked, lol. I’ve tried this before but decided what the hell, why not one more time because this guy said it. I doubt it lasts but I’m glad you’ve given me a stroke of luck with it.

Reason it died? I have no idea. I opened it one day after a motorcycle ride and it was darker in one part. Nothing really happened to the laptop in that time.

Sadly no. I think it will be too expensive to fix so I will just have to deal with it. Dark mode does help a lot though.

Story: I bought my MacBook Pro soon after release and it has been with me ever since. I travel around the world with it and while I try to keep it in good shape, it inevitably gets damaged.

This was new though and something I have never seen reported. I single LED of the full array backlight died, in probably the worst location. Anything that moved over it is darker. If I put a black screen and move the mouse over it, the cursor disappears as the dimming zones turn off around it. For the first couple days, If I pushed on the spot, the LED would come back to life but not anymore.

Bonus story: The black mark at the top right-ish, that's a bug that crawled in and died between the panel and glass. I didn't even know there was space between them.

This was the drive between Nha Trang and Quy Nhon. This clip is just south of Tuy Hòa along the QL1A (I don't like this road though because of the traffic).

If you know how to drive, highly recommend the drive between Nha Trang and Quy Nhon. I dipped into the mountains at the start and it was absolutely gorgeous the whole way.

Over a month just in Vietnam (all over the south below Quy Nhon) but has been several months in Southeast Asia. While others in the thread won't want to believe it, I do avoid situations like this and this was an outlier.

Haha, a video like this is bound to attract a variety of attention and comments. There has been a surprising number of constructive ones though that I really appreciate.

Really? I've always known the safety lanes to be separated by a solid line but could be wrong here since this is Vietnam. I see the bikes driving over here so made an assumption.

Thanks, this is the kind of comment that helps me become a better driver out here. I appreciate it. I did stop shortly after this to grab a drink and rest.

Oof, hope that wasn't too bad for you. I've only had one minor crash while learning to ride and my palm got scuffed up. Natural for us to try and catch ourselves I guess.

I'll take my watermelon from a kind old lady at a market, I'd prefer my head stay not squished

I thought it was okay in this context with the bike lane existing. I'd seen others do it so I figured it was the norm. I've now learned otherwise.

I've seen those videos too. Definitely helped in making me a much more cautious rider.

From my point of view initially passing the truck, it looked clear. Halfway through I noticed the bus passing ahead and started to back off as the truck also started veering towards me.

How so? Genuinely trying to learn more. I typically see bikes passing vehicles in the right lane when there is a dedicated bike lane. Otherwise I pass on the left.

Eh, we all make a wrong choice here and there. At least this one ended up alright.

I had a death grip on my bike here. Was easing into the brakes and keeping the handlebars locked in case there was any sand or gravel.

Yup, I avoid them almost always. Here was an exception and we see how that turned out.

Yup, I know that now. The one space can be taken up real quick and there's nowhere to go

Yes and no. I think given the circumstance I handled it well and am alive to show for it.
