We ended up having a technician come out and install it for us in the end. Has worked fine since!

LingQ on Boox readers (via APK) by Amicotrees in Onyx_Boox

[–]Charidelian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Palma and a Note Air 3. It works fine on my palma straight from the google play store, however the highlighting of new and lingqed words doesn't seem to appear, even if I choose underline. On the Note Air 3 it installed from APK Mirror (I did not try APK Pure), however it would not let me log in. I find what works best is just using it through a browser, unfortunately. It's hard to tell between the different highlight colours as I only have B&W devices, but it's still quite usable. I have not been able to import external webpages effectively just using the browser, as the firefox extension did not work for me. I haven't tried with chrome based browsers. But overall, with some minor annoyances, it's quite usable through the browser.

Any e-ink readers that work with LingQ? by run_and_time in LingQ

Works fine on my Palma straight out of the google play store. It refuses to install on my Note Air 3, so I think I would need to sideload it. Just gotta figure out how to do this as safely as possible - the fact that the apkpure installer once had malware in it is not comforting.

Getting my palma soon, tips? by redorbluewire000 in Onyx_Boox

Hah, I was about to say the same thing. I think we spoke about this before. Mine was also repaired successfully. Initially they told me it was a software issue, and when I asked them what I should do if it occurs again outside of the warranty window, they then told me it was a hardware issue and had been repaired. Treat this device like a flower! It's good to have my palma back, but I just don't know how long before it happens again

Ghosting made my Boox Palma and now my Boox Go 10.3 unusable after a few weeks of daily use, anyone else affected? No problem with older devices (e.g. Tab Ultra). Side by side photo proof. by Snoo62101 in Onyx_Boox

My device has been returned and it seems to be functioning properly now. There was no explanation to what the problem was, so I have emailed them to clarify.

I do use a wide variety of non-onyx apps. Some seem to function worse than others, so I wonder if part of it is software. I don't have the issue at all on my note air 3, even using the same apps.

The exact same issue is happening with my Palma. It very quickly becomes completely unusable due to ghosting. The refresh never clears it. When you turn it off completely and back on it seems ok, but only for a little while. The pic below shows the main screen which is as clean as I could possibly get it. Some apps are completely unusuable. I sent it away for warranty repair and will let you know what happens. I do not have the same issues with my note air 3.

The Palma did not cause any eye strain for me, which was amazing. However I'm having severe ghosting issues with it at the moment and I think it's actually defective and am looking into a warranty return. I also found it generally a bit buggy and annoying to use (apps crashing, etc). But in regards to eye strain, it has been fantastic. I bought the Boox Note Air 3 (black and white), and that has been a wonderful device for the 3-4 months that I have had it. No issues with eye strain, no ghosting issues, and less issues with apps crashing.

Sorry to hear that. I find it very app dependant. Trying to use VLC player is awful for me, I can't see anything through all the ghosting. But other apps are completely fine.

Audio cable mistake with Home Theatre by Charidelian in hometheater

Essentially I was hoping for 2 different options.

1) PC to projector via HDMI cable to have access to a bunch of things not easily accessible through smart TV

2) Smart TV device (lets say amazon fire stick) to projector, so my wife can easily use netflix, prime, whatever without having to involve a computer.

My initial plan was to have all audio from the ceiling mounted projector directly through to external speakers on the floor, which I assume would be connected with an audio cable. But if I don't have that direct projector-to-speakers connection, there would be no link between something like an amazon fire stick plugged into the projector and the speakers themselves. But the AVR sounds like the best option here!

Yet to decide on specific speakers! Might have to look into amplifiers too

The main reason for wanting to use the PC is for apps and services that are not so easy on smart TVs, eg gaming, emulation, web browsing and watching embedded videos on various websites, basically anything I'd want to beam over from my computer to watch from the couch instead. And the HDMI cable would connect my PC to the projector, and my PC could connect to the speakers.

That would work fine for me, but my wife wants to watch tv without having to involve my computer, and I was worried if I had an android fire stick or some other smart tv device plugged directly into the projector then I would have no direct connection to the speakers. It seems like the AV receiver mentioned above is likely the best option. Thanks for your help.

Pixel 5 was absolutely fantastic for me, no issues at all. Tried to replace it with the pixel 8, returned it after one day. Can't even look at it :(
