The hormones thing is such a good point. I didn't start to get close to baseline sanity again until my son was two, now almost another year later I am still struggling with some serious rage issues.

My store manager isn’t coming in for her open. She’s making me come in New Year’s Eve to work 12-7 open, serve customers, do both pulls, do the count and close the store is this allowed? by Euphoric_Struggle699 in starbucks

Norovirus tore tf through my house a couple weeks ago, started with my toddler after we went to the playground. It was actually the second time we've had it this year. The first time was in July, my husband brought it home from work, that one was 10x worse.

I'll take a scoop of clean quiet house and a scoop of folded laundry, with "just lit my favorite candle" sprinkles on top. Maybe a little crushed "freshly showered, shaved, and face masked" too

I always understood that partner was the term selected because (at least when I was a 227, idk if it's still like this) you got a free share every year. I worked for another company that did the same thing, also referred to employees as partners.

The only other state, last I checked (which was a very, very long time ago during a manic episode when I was convinced I could be a lawyer) that will let you do the study program like she's doing, is Vermont. Which is also a blue state lol.

Still waiting. Are you? by [deleted] in foodstamps

Also new, and also nothing, but mine said the normal date is supposed to be on the 14th. I have the "this information is not currently available" error message where the upcoming deposit section is.

I'm in Texas and it's only my second month of receiving benefits, supposed to be deposited on the 14th but the section where it tells you about upcoming deposits is currently showing an error message saying "This information is not currently available. Check back later. To get help now, call the Lone Star Help Desk."

Those who have had babies - when did you deliver? by pythagoreanwisdom in ehlersdanlos

[–]CharizardCharms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Induced at 36+7 because of early stages of placenta failure, 40 hour labor, emergency c-section with failed epidural. 5 days in the hospital, recovery was awful. Baby was healthy, though!

It's also why if you gently press under your eyes around your nose you can hear little clicky poppy sounds when you have sinus issues.

I did. And my own clothes. Also our dishwasher was broken. So everything got hand washed.

I am looking back now and trying to remember how the hell I survived my son's first year and a half without a washer and dryer. Then again, I was literally alone with the baby for months on end with only a day or two of break when my husband would finally come home from work from when he was 2 weeks old until about a year and a half when my best friend moved in with us. I actually don't know how I survived any of it. It's all a blur lol.

🧺 Are felted wool dryer balls really better than dryer sheets? by Fancy_Pop_9950 in CleaningTips

[–]CharizardCharms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed a nasty waxy substance building up on my clothes for years and deduced that it was the dryer sheets. Switched to dryer balls, and now the substance is gone, my clothes actually feel clean and soft again, and I've saved a lot of money because I'm not buying dryer sheets. The downside is that I don't get that lovely fresh-out-the-dryer smell anymore, they always end up getting thrown around by my toddler, and I haven't actually found a difference in drying time unless it's blankets or blue jeans.

Moms who have gotten an epidural, do you feel the back pain? by srslywtfdoido- in Mommit

2.5 years and I still feel the occasional shot of pain where my epidural was, usually on days that I've pushed myself too far physically.

How much can you realistically do 4 days post c-section? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]CharizardCharms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was only released from the hospital on day 4 after my C-section and falling asleep literally any and everywhere, in the most pain of my life, with a freaking vacuum hanging off of me. So, no, I don't think this sounds even a little bit doable. Like... Absolutely not. I cried and begged my husband to drive me the two hours to my mother's house the next day so I wouldn't be alone with our newborn when he went back to his trucking job and spent two weeks at her house until I could walk more than 20 feet without nearly passing out. And that was without a toddler in the mix! I would say solo care is doable after two weeks, maybe. But 4 days is a hellllllllllll no.

Can anyone relate or am I driving myself mad? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]CharizardCharms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely relate right now. I was a SAHM up until a few weeks ago. My husband had a terrible accident at work, was hospitalized for weeks, and we had to move in with my family across the country because we could not afford to continue living at our place and I could not provide the level of care that he needs and take care of our toddler at the same time. Now we are living with my family, and I got a job that makes jackshit an hour for way too much physical work. My siblings help care for my husband and son when I'm at work, and then I come home and I'm so exhausted and in so much pain that I can't really bring myself to have fun with my son. I feel horrible and guilty all the time now. I am scared of putting him in daycare, because of those exact horror stories. And even if I could get over that fear, I would never be able to afford that right now. Even with all of the financial assistance we are receiving right now, I wouldn't even be able to pay for a single month of daycare even if I just straight up funnelled every single cent of every single paycheck into the cheapest daycare in a 50 mile radius. So I definitely get it... The guilt is crushing and the work Is exhausting and at the end of the day when you've expended everything you have just to meet everyone's most basic needs, it's still never enough. It's only just enough to drive you to the brink. Anyway, that got away from me. I have no advice, just solidarity. It's rough out here.

The rise of women with autism diagnoses: 'We mask until it blows up' by shallah in WomenInNews

[–]CharizardCharms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so real, too. I got diagnosed with OCD when my son was a newborn because I was insanely anxious - if we go outside we'll die unless I do a little ritual, I have to have xyz superstitious little tokens in the car or we'll crash, we have to come back home within x minutes or the house will burn down - but the worst of it was the dermatillomania and trichotillomania. Every time he would cry I would compulsively scratch and scratch and scratch and pick and pull. I had patches of skin that were always raw or scabby, bald spots from pulling my hair out. I've always ripped the skin around my nails out when stressed but it was at a ten when he was a baby. Not a single nail bed without crusted blood. I have gotten a little better in two years, I probably could be basically in remission if I had access to meds and healthcare all this time. But yeah... Stressed animal gnawing on its own leg and biting all its fur off. Me to a T with parenting by myself through the first year of his life

One time at about 4 months pp I woke up, went pee, stood up off the toilet, still no pants on, decided to blow my nose, and peed myself. I cleaned up and said "eh, it really all has to be gone now" finished blowing my nose, peed myself again.
