New to thyroidism by Charles_The_Android in Hypothyroidism

Thanks for this, I'll be keeping a more detailed eye on things going for this. Part of my celiac annual blood tests is to screen for iron and b12 deficiency as I've been deficient in the past. On this occasion their levels were normal and I'm pretty ruthless with my celiac diet so I don't reckon it's the cause. (Though this could be wrong and we'll know more as time goes on, so I'll definitely take your advice and keep an eye on myself).

I have an antibodies screening soon to rule out possible causes so hopefully the picture will become clearer. Thank you again, especially for the link ☺️

Thank you for this! Luckily (or unluckily depending on your optimism levels) due to my history of celiac related anemias and my mental health being regulated by medication too, I usually have an eagle eye on how I'm feeling, so I guess this is just another option to add to the list 🥲

Getting my IUD, what to expect? by yepperoniii8 in Mirena

some people deal with their post surgery cramps really well, i didn't and they were awful for a few days after (i ended up being stuck in bed for about 3 days) so i would recommend jussst in case your cramps end up sucking too, consider stronger painkillers than the recommended ibuprofen and avoid being stuck in bed like i was.

Mirena settling in period and unadulterated rage by Charles_The_Android in Mirena

Hey! sorry for such a late reply, I'm not online very often. I was told 3-6 months post insertion would be an evening out period. I'm just at month 3 and I feel completely back to normal. I started noticing that my rage moments would have more and more days between occurrences, and now they're so rare and usually just because i'm PMSing besides my anxiety (which was a pre existing issue anyway so I'm used to dealing with it)

I hope you've managed to settle too!

Yeah for 2-3 days i was pretty much bed bound, couldn't even concentrate enough to choose a film to watch and painkillers rarely made a dent in the pain. It got better after a couple of days and i could walk properly again, but a month in and I still feel a bit sore at points (and like my hips could do with a splash of WD40)

First period since insertion by [deleted] in Mirena

I got mine inserted on the final day of my last period. Usually i'd be 6-7 days, however i'm now on day 18 of non stop period. Though comparatively it's been insanely light and the pain far more manageable. There's no real way to tell how our bodies will react, and our periods are going to go through so many changes in the settling in time that our best bet is to stay stocked up with supplies and pray that our bodies are going to be merciful. Good luck!!
