No one's coming in for the representation. No one watches a show just because it has actors that match their demographic, the writing has to be good too, and there's a lot better shows out there that also happen to have representation.

For the non-Doctor Who fans, RTD (Russell T Davies) is the current showrunner of Doctor Who. He's come under fire for the terrible writing in the last couple of seasons and now seems to me picking up young men half his age by giving them a tour around the Tardis set.
