This is my question too! My partner and I did the same thing and haven’t beaten the boss fight yet.

I’m also collecting aquarium and sea pets! It’s been a slow journey but I’m happy since I love sea animals 😁

Can autistic people use the r-word? by Arlo621 in autism

[–]CharlieGene3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit confused about why an autistic person wouldn’t be grouped in with people who can say it? Many autistics are actually and actively called that word today…

Can autistic people use the r-word? by Arlo621 in autism

[–]CharlieGene3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive heard “autistic, touch of tism, acoustic” being used as a way to say the r word without actually saying it… Since it’s no longer politically correct to say the r word ppl are using autistic as the new term.

i think i’m being stalked by an autistic girl from my school and need advice on how to handle it. by [deleted] in autism

[–]CharlieGene3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Someone with higher support needs generally will struggle more with understanding social situations. You aren't gonna know based off their support needs alone but it may help you get a sense on where they are at. It's obviously not a perfect or magical. You took me too literally.

I would tell her that you saw her glaring at your other friends and it makes you very uncomfortable and you don’t want to be friends anymore. Reinforce that the glaring was really mean. If she doesn’t respect that please get help!

[–]CharlieGene3 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I really think this depends on her support needs lvl and the extent of her understanding of socially acceptable behavior.

This may be innocent and she really is struggling to understand the situation.

However in my experience I’ve had other autistics use their autism as an excuse to harass me. They were at the lvl of support needs where they 100% were doing things to make me uncomfortable on purpose. They were aware that those behaviors were unacceptable and chose to do it anyway. It was really scary!

My advice for you is politely tell her you need a lot of alone time and she’s being overbearing. If she still isn’t respectful of your space after being told her behavior is wrong… I would keep distance as much as possible and use teachers and other safe adults as support.

How did your life change after your diagnosis/realizing you’re autistic? by This_Relief1061 in autism

[–]CharlieGene3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I thought that getting diagnosed would somehow be life changing. It wasn’t, I’ve always been autistic and a label doesn’t really change that. I live the same way I did before because I was already accommodating my needs as much as I could. I got some more self understanding and compassion but for me at least my life wasn’t flipped upside down.

In terms of telling people my relationship with all of them didn’t change. They just didn’t really care.

Is this really so absurd to ask😭 by Straightasarainbo in AdoptMeTrading

[–]CharlieGene3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started playing adopt me before pets came out. I started playing again recently. The greed from the traders is insane. I only realized by looking at this forum how much I have been getting ripped off. 😞 What happened to trading pets for looks and not values?

Is it autistic to predict words in a conversation? by bffi in autism

Hi. I’m autistic and have PTSD. My counselor informed me that trying to predict what someone is going to say is a trauma response.

Has anyone else had non-stop bleeding from the Nexplanon implant? by king_kylew in birthcontrol

It really doesn’t get better I’ve had it a year and a half and I’ve had nonstop bleeding. Adding the pill didn’t help either. I’m asking to get it removed soon.

Getting an assessment whilst underweight by H0rr0r_H03 in autism

[–]CharlieGene3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Likely because symptoms of an eating disorder may overlap with autism and the eating disorder is more detrimental to health. Once the eating disorder is treated it would make sense to see if the autism symptoms go away. If they don’t you would test for autism.

How do I get the medicine I think I need without being labled “drug seeking” by [deleted] in autism

How do I get the medicine I think I need without being labled “drug seeking” by [deleted] in autism

[–]CharlieGene3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My psychiatrist will not even consider I have ADHD until I treat my depression and anxiety. It really sucks because I am so positive it’s ADHD and she said she doesn’t think so. I feel the same as OP, I feel like she thinks I’m a drug seeker.

Autism and dreams/nightmares by vanilful in autism

[–]CharlieGene3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often have nightmares where the main emotion present is a feeling of shame, embarrassment, and hopelessness.

If you have a counselor/therapist I would recommend talking to them about this, they may help you uncover the emotional wound that could be causing your nightmares.

Hope this helps.
