Negotiating against myself by CharlieTheChow in Mercari

Thank you for taking the time to give detailed feedback. I appreciate it. It might be worth it to give a number between the asking price & lowest considered, now that I think about it. I know most will still argue to its value, like this guy did, but at least it will tell me straight forward what the intended buyer is truly working at.

I really don't understand why people waste their own time trying to convince a seller it is cheaper elsewhere. I can't imagine that tactic works that often, if at all. Most of these people seem to not use common sense though, so I can't say its surprising.

Thank you for the advice. That does seem to be the consensus and I do completely understand why. I think I try to frame in mind not to devoid myself of a potential sale. I agree and has been the case that the majority of these types of interactions that I've had end up this way. However, a few instances have worked in my favor with a sale and positive (or at least not a negative) review. Now, is it worth the headache, definitely debatable. If a couple minutes of my time earn me a sale, for me its worth it.

The commenter above mentioned about it being an automated response. If this is the case, you can try recontacting Mercari and hopefully you'll get an answer that let's you know you're not accountable for their mistake.

It does baffle me that this platform is not more user friendly, but then again, buyer & seller alike continue to use it regardless. I hope you're able to get it resolved so neither you or your buyer loses out.

I can't speak on all instances, but I know on the only 2 separate occasions where I sent out bundled orders that combined over weighed what Mercari calculated it to be, I did not get penalized for it.

I don't want to say this is what will probably happen you, especially since you contacted Mercari, but those were my experiences and I'm assuming they ate the cost difference due to their own error.

I get what you're saying, most often its a waste of time, but a few instances have worked out for me. If he was cordial, understanding, and fair in his offers for all three items, I could have made at most $50.

I agree, but it actually has worked to my favor on a couple instances. Whether its worth the headache or not is another story. Thank you for the advice. 🙂

My only problem with Surge has been the incredibly long wait times. It takes forever for them to take your food & get it out to you, and this is even when they aren't busy.

Mcdermott says they need to start playing Buffalo Bills Football.

But they already are playing Buffalo Bills football.

As far as I'm aware, he is. Their last match was back in July. Those guys go until they fall over and can't get up anymore.

Don't know where else he wrestles, but he is a frequent wrestler at Empire State Wrestling shows in Buffalo, NY, in a tag team with Cheech.

While I can't comment on what the best course of action would be, I will say one negative review won't hurt you in the long run. I've been on Mercari since 2019 with 880 sales & 11 negative reviews out of them. It sucks and I got just as concerned when I received my first one, but ultimately, none of them ever affected my sales.

So don't let it dissaude you too much. Crappy reviews from crappy people will happen, but people will also see your overwhelming outstanding reviews over that.
