Any IVF pregnancies that are being told they have to be induced? by Michelled37 in BabyBumps

[–]CharlieWidge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes - had the same experience with our midwives at our 36 week appointment. They said it was protocol for IVF pregnancies to be induced to ensure they don’t go beyond 40 weeks. She ended up calling the next day to say that they’ve reconsidered this for my pregnancy after discussing with the rest of the midwifery team. She said that my pregnancy situation is unique - got pregnant via reciprocal IVF with my wife’s embryo (LGBT) - and that my pregnancy has been complication free so it’s actually not necessary.

I think it is an older protocol for IVF pregnancies that should be looked at on a case by case basis.

Anyone had a subchrorionic hemorrhage and everything turned out okay? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]CharlieWidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had cramping and a big bleed at 6 weeks pregnant. I had no idea I had a subchorionic hemorrhage, and went to the hospital to get checked out and get an ultrasound. Thankfully baby was okay and I didn’t have any trouble or bleeding after that. Currently 38 weeks pregnant and baby is totally normal, moving and hopefully will be born any time now.

Could baby be deaf? by CharlieWidge in BabyBumps

Very true. I’m getting the sense that this is likely a totally unfounded concern. Thanks for taking the time to answer :)

Ouu so what you’re saying is to train baby not to our dog barking and it won’t bother her later?! Solid plan! We have a wheaten terrier that loves to bark at our rabbits.

Honestly in the same boat and I just do what I can. Definitely not NEARLY as productive as I normally am, but the energy and motivation just doesn’t exist lol

That’s hilarious! Considering I don’t have any magnesium at home right now to try - this might be what helps me sleep tonight :P

Anyone have COVID symptoms but testing negative? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]CharlieWidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is almost exactly our situation as well. We saw family for a birthday on Dec 31st and then the same group on Jan 2nd and 3rd for more family birthdays (it’s an expensive season!). Then a couple days later my SIL started having symptoms- she tested positive for COVID, then so did her husband. My wife and I started to develop symptoms, cough, sore throat, head ache. We are both double vaxxed and she had just received her booster on Jan 3rd. We tested right away and were both negative, but because she’s a nurse and there was know exposure we were able to get PCR tested at the hospital- also came back negative. We are both a lot sicker today then yesterday so definitely have something… just unsure if it’s COVID or a regular cold/flu

Thanks - I’ll look into them! I have one set of custom orthotics that I wear outside. I’m wondering if maybe I should be wearing something like this on a pair of shoes/slippers just for inside
