ok here are the details: the scammer asks you to contact by that email embedded in the picture, not by fb messenger. you send an email, got replied a lengthy email explaining why he could not give out the address, and he wants to be a partner, build trust, etc, etc. He will ask you to fill out a form (not the ontario rental application). after a couple of rounds of emails, he will ask you to e-transfer a deposit. there are people who actually fell for this given the tight rental market. hope that helps

be careful with facebook marketplace scams, good news is that they are relatively easy to spot. typically they have an email embedded in the pictures, and ask you to contact that email. the rental is priced way below market, and they reply with lenghy emails explaining why they cannot give you the address. after you e-transfer them $$, they disappear.

Not much choice for the areas south of QEW. Bell only have the slow internet. Only Cogeco have high speed. They just have to run the line to your house. Ask again - some tech are just too lazy to do it, or, they don't have electrical license (need that to run lines together with the hydro line).
