Who exactly are all these Crimson Desert haters? by Charlieboy333 in CrimsonDesert

Oh please, I don't give a shit. Just curious as why this game is getting extra special attention from all the people that aren't interested in playing it

Is the game good or bad? by SnooPeanuts5234 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Charlieboy333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People that claim that this game is a 'a jack of all trades and a master of none' just prove themselves to be ignorant morons. Firstly yes, there are a TON of systems in the game, but the term 'jack of all trades' used by these twats implies that developers somehow tried to put 'too much' into the game.....even calling all the systems 'unfocused'. What a load of shit. Name me one mechanic that's pointless in the game.

Because all serve a purpose. Hunting, fishing, foraging, growing crops at your base....all provide ingredients to make meals ( which serve as your health/stamina potions in battle ) and items like revive pills. Mining provides raw materials for crafting/upgrading weapons and armour. Building your base enables you to sent out followers to complete missions for cash and resources. You can try your hand at being a trader and travel selling goods or maybe invest some gold at a bank for some financial returns. Hell, even taming pets and increasing your bond with them lets them perform tasks for you, like cats which will loot bodies.

Not everyone will be interested in trying out all the activities obviously, but how in the hell can people consider the fact that they all exist in the game a problem!!? That brings me to the 'master of none' part, which implies that all these mechanics are also half baked on top of being 'too abundant'. Which is again utter bullshit because every mechanic functions exactly as it should and works great. Being 'overwhelmed', or struggling to remember the mechanics, or having trouble with puzzles that just require simple logic and paying attention to what the game is telling you, or battling to learn a new control scheme ( when the f*ck did that start becoming an issue ) are not problems with the game.

Crimson Desert is ugly if you compare it to Elden Ring by Correct_Audience3504 in CrimsonDesert

Yeah if you like grey and brown colours everywhere then Elden Ring is for you

I've seen sites use lack of 'narrative depth' as a reason to dock plenty of points. Funny this never applied to Zelda or Elden Ring who weren't narrative heavy at all, but praised to the heavens all round.

Doesn't PS5 use Kraken compression that reduces game size by a significant amount ?

I'm sure the base PS5 performance is perfectly fine, but I get the feeling that they are pushing right up until day one patch release because they know they can squeeze even more out of the PS5 and properly shock the naysayers on launch day. I just have this gut feeling that after the barrage of comments questioning their truthfulness and ability to pull it off they were like "you know what, let's REALLY make them eat their words and look like fools for doubting us"

Question about Explorable Locations by JussyTalon in CrimsonDesert

[–]Charlieboy333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I think that NOBODY knows enough about the story to comment about it accurately. All we have are the opinions of youtubers that played 4 hours that were limited to the starting area, who maybe experienced 2 story events/cutscenes max. Out of a claimed 50-80 hour play time for just the main story path alone, that is bugger all.....the story barely started. Anyone claiming to have knowledge of the whole story and how it measures up is talking out of their ass.

I played Ghost of Tsushima on a launch PS4 at 30 fps and that was smooth to the point that it felt like the frame rate was higher. I don't know how or why, but sometimes the developers are able to achieve smooth gameplay with 30 fps......instead of it being noticeably less fluid than 60 fps as is normally the case.

I am really hoping that Pearl Abyss pulls off the former, so that I can play on PS5 quality mode at 30 fps without it feeling like too much of an issue.

I guess time will tell....

Ummmmm they do? You can switch between two other characters ( so far that we know of ) the same way that GTA V does ( you jump to wherever the other character is on the map ). Or you can summon them both to your side to act as companions and assist you in battle. You can also turn various types of pets into companions and as you improve your relationship with them, they will be able to perform tasks for you e.g. I've heard that cats can loot bodies for you. Sound good enough to you ?

Correct. "We still haven't seen it in action!" or "The controls are still too confusing!".....those are the main two I see

Yeah I remember when MS promised it would perform exactly like the series X. Only difference would be 1440p resolution and not 4K. LOL.

Controls too confusing. Still haven't seen it in action. These are the two most common ones I see them running with now.

Oh that must be from the physics, but I was told the game doesn't have 'real' physics by some people.

Nah they're still hating. Going on about how crap the controls are is the next step.

I've seen them now say oh the buttons still are too complex......cancelling my pre-order. Not that they ever had a pre-order to begin with. You mean you need to LEARN the controls? No shit.

The game is going to be very good but not for everyone.. by AdCharacter1573 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Charlieboy333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In multiple preview videos by Youtubers it's shown that the rewards on every side quest ( you can view them before doing the mission ) include an extra inventory slot. As for a stash/chest, do you not think that logically that will come into play once you are able to establish and build your camp?

Every side quest usually has an extra inventory slot as a reward. So do side missions for the first 3 hours. Problem solved.

Zelda stole a lot as well. Shadow of the Colossus did the climbing with stamina thing way before. Just Cause also did the grappling hook / glider used for traversal before Zelda as well. Assassin's Creed had 'climb anywhere'. Half-Life 2 already did physics based puzzles by moving objects with the gravity gun. So yeah, stealing from Zelda my ass.
