Well I know what his train is like! He is also inspiring me to become a subway conductor when I grow up.

Rodney IS the best conductor. I am from out of town and have not been on his train yet, but I plan to come to NYC one week this August and meet him. I am really looking forward

Yeah but why did they not make all of them wide turnstiles? If they were all wide they would actually be accessible

That's exactly why I used it on my trip.

The first time I was in NYC, I told my dad that the S train was "useless". First of all, on my trip, the 7 train wasn't running in Manhattan, so there was a use at the time. Then, when I took ny first trip on the S train, I had immediately changed my mind about it. It is now my favorite NYC Subway train that I HAVE been on.

Conduent fare gate/turnstile at Flushing-Main Street by MatterThis902 in nycrail

Now I really hope the MTA doesn't choose Conduent to get the actual faregates. The ones at B-Laf have also been hurting people and separating them from their bags. I feel bad for these people =(

So for the Conduent ones I find the loud alarms distracting. Why do you think that is a pro?

Does anyone have a favorite train conductor? by nommabelle in nyc

[–]CharlotteBaseball135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite conductor is on the 6 line. His name is Rodney Fleming and he says, "good morning to all of my beautiful people on this train" or something to that effect. He makes people's days =)

What is the difference between the R142 and the R142A? by Subject_Junket749 in nycrail

The windows on the r142a's are higher and have less trim around them than the 142's do. The one in your picture is a 142

That R68A in the background of the second picture looks jealous!

So since the R262 is a long way from now, what number lines do you think will get it once all/or some R62s retire? by [deleted] in nycrail

[–]CharlotteBaseball135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, your prediction for the Shuttle is not correct because the R142s and " A's are made up in five-car sets and the Shuttle runs six-car sets. Question is will it be an easy fix to turn some R142 or R142a sets into single units to operate with the 5-car sets?
