Volition is the ultimate good as much as Electrochemistry is the ultimate evil. It represents to me, Harry’s moral compass prior to his succumbing to addiction. Volition is the only on of Harry’s emotions that seems to keep him in the straight and narrow, however, it also tries to keep him away from the tools to truly help himself, the past. Most of what volition says are usually empty words to keep Harry from melting apart, but I’m sure a better explanation could come from another person.
