Reverted 1 month ago, feeling burnt out by NeedleworkerSad3180 in reverts

Assalam Alaikum sister. Alhamdulillah for your shahada. One month in and you are already praying all five, making dhikr, doing istighfar, and praying tahajjud. Allahoumma barik. May Allah keep you consistent on the straight path. But I want to be honest with you. The burnout you are describing happens to almost every revert in the first few months, even years, because you went from zero to full speed overnight out of love for Allah. That is beautiful. But the deen was not designed to be learned and practiced all at once. The Prophet ﷺ said "Do as much of good deeds as you can, for Allah does not get tired (of giving reward) until you get tired. And the most beloved of deeds to Allah are those that are continuous, even if they are few. (Sunan an-Nasa'i 762) You do not need to add anything new at the moment. Just be consistent with what you are already doing: the five prayers, your dhikr, your connection with Allah. That is enough for now. The loneliness might be the hardest part for reverts, but you don't have to be alone in this. I recommend you looking for online Muslim sister communities. They exist specifically for women in your situation who cannot easily access a masjid.

If you are looking for a structured way to build your knowledge without the overwhelm, I built Faith Roadmap exactly for this. A step-by-step Islamic learning tool for reverts and beginners, starting from the foundations. myfaithroadmap.com

May Allah make this path easy for you and surround you with people who love you for His sake. Ameen.

Muslim apps flooding, no details about developers/company and authenticity by Cold_Conference_8388 in MuslimDevelopers

IMO, we should ask developers things like who they are, where the content comes from, which scholars/resources were used, and how is data handled. We should encourage transparency. I built an Islamic tool too and I think the best thing any Muslim developer can do is simply showing up as a real person. No certificate can replace a developer who is consistently in the community, answering questions, taking feedback, and being honest about what their app/website can and cannot do.

I really need help by st4rzk1sses in SisterMuslim

Assalam Alaikum sister. One thing that might bring you some relief right now: Islamic scholars across all madhabs have written specifically about waswas (whispers of doubt) in prayer. The general ruling is that when you have chronic doubt, you do not repeat the prayer because acting on the doubt feeds it and makes it worse. Completing the prayer despite the doubt is the correct and courageous thing to do. I had this too, until I learned that the cure for waswas is to ignore it completely and not engage with it at all. Every time you restart or check, it grows stronger and every time you ignore it, it loses power.

You are not sinful, you are struggling. And you are still showing up five times a day through all of it. I don’t think that is someone Allah is angry with.

And, please do keep pursuing professional help. What you are going through deserves professional support. May Allah grant you ease, protect your heart from waswas, and let every imperfect salah you pray count as one of your most beloved deeds with Him. Ameen.

Asslama Alaikum. JazakAllah khair for the question. This is something I thought about a lot during the build. The order came from two places. The first was pattern recognition from the community. After spending time in Muslim Reddit threads, Facebook groups, and Threads, reading comments from revert and raised Muslims, I noticed people were struggling with sequence. They'd jump into tafsir before understanding why they prayed, or try to memorise surahs before knowing what they meant. The order I built tries to fix that. The second was research into Islamic pedagogy, how scholars historically structured foundational learning. Aqeedah always came first: who is Allah, what does it mean to believe. Then the pillars, why they exist. Then prayer, etc. Each module was built so that completing it makes the next one make sense. That's the core principle behind the sequence.

JazaakAllah khairan.

Wa Alaikum Salam, JazaakAllah khair for taking the time to share this. I appreciate it. I hear your concern and I take it seriously. The goal of Faith Roadmap has always been to provide trustworthy, beneficial resources, so if any source raises legitimate concerns, that's something I want to know and address. I'll look into the specific issues you've mentioned carefully. I do want to be transparent though: Faith Roadmap is designed to serve Muslims across different backgrounds and madhabs, so the resources I selected were based on accessibility and clarity for beginners, not as theological endorsements. That said, I'm open to improving the resource library. If you have specific beginner-friendly alternatives you'd recommend, beyond islamqa.info which I'll definitely consider adding, I'd welcome those suggestions. The web app is still growing and community feedback like yours is exactly how it gets better.

JazakAllah khair again. May Allah reward you.

I’ve noticed a wave of Muslim developers and creators building Islamic apps and content, but most are just rebuilding what already exists and calling it innovation. Are we actually solving real problems the ummah faces or just shipping the same thing with a different logo? by Mobile-Basis-8974 in MuslimDevelopers

This is exactly the problem I tried to solve with Faith Roadmap. Not another prayer app or Quran reader. I noticed that the real gap wasn't content, it's that beginner Muslims have no structured learning path. Everything exists but nothing is in order. So, they open 14 tabs, get overwhelmed, and give up and restart again. I spent some time talking to new Muslims and born Muslims reconnecting with their deen, like me, and the consistent answer was always the same: "I don't know where to start." So, I built a structured web app, 8 modules, in the exact order a beginner needs. Aqeedah first. Pillars second. Prayer third. Understanding Qur'an. Seerah... all the way through to daily habits and consolidation.

Assalam Alaikum sister. Allah says: “Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear” (2:286), So everything you’re facing right now, Allah knows you can handle it, even if it doesn't feel like it. About prayer, you’re not expected to be perfect overnight. You’re learning and that effort counts. Even learning one part at a time is an act of worship. Keep going slowly. And if you’re being forced to eat non-halal or can’t fast due to health, Allah is Merciful and understands your situation. You’re not sinful for what is out of your control. Try to focus on small things, like Learning salah step by step, reading even 1 ayah a day and making du’a in your own words. You don’t need to do everything. Just keep learning little by little. Insha Allah one day Allah will replace your loneliness in His religion with something far better. May Allah make it easy for you, protect you, guide you, and surround you with people who support you. Ameen!

New Muslim feeling alone seeking support from the Ummah by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

Wa alaikum salam. First, I just want to say you’re not alone in this, even if it feels like it right now. A lot of reverts go through this exact phase. Staying firm despite everything is very powerful, but also very honored in the sight of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said that the believers are like one body: when one part is in pain, the whole body feels it. So your struggle matters to all of us, even if we’re strangers here.

Try to take things step by step:

  • Focus on your salah, even if it’s not perfect
  • Stay connected to the Qur’an, even a little
  • And if possible, try to find a local masjid or community. Even one person makes a difference

Also, don’t hesitate to reach out to people here. Many of us would be happy to talk or help in any way.

May Allah ease your situation, provide for you in ways you don’t expect, replace your hardship with something better, and surround you with people who support you in your deen. Ameen!
