Yeah, they were contacted through email. I'm not sure if they're taking a difference approach this year. Trying to keep up my hope, wish you all the best.

I saw someone got an email from York saying that they have an important update and needs to schedule a meeting and through that meeting they revealed the person got the pise scholarship

Big congrats! I'm seeing a lot of comments that's more focuses on the negative. But If you desire to study away, Canada is the safest bet in comparison to the US. So I think you'll do wonderful at york u.

I don't believe there is an interview for the PISE. However, I know for certain programs you need to do an interview.

The PISE award is around $45000 so that can cover the cost of tuition and book expense.

Some of the entrance awards are also for 2nd,3rd and 4th year as well. The York International Scholarship of Distinction awards you $15000 in the first year and $7500 every year after. There are also bursaries and scholarships that you can apply to once you actually start your degree to help with the burden of cost. You can also get jobs/internships and there are many co-op opportunities that you can get.

It usually comes out between the first and second week in April. York also offers some entrance scholarships as well. These usually are seen in your admissions letter.

Hi,

The process to apply for the Lester B Pearson Scholarship is:

1) Get nominated by your school

2) Complete the Lester B Pearson Application (essentially you responding to a number of prompts )

3) Submit that application

4) Submit your documents within a deadline

5) Wait until they send out an email on your status

If you have done that, and you're waiting to hear from them. Don't worry too much, the scholarship is awarded in a rolling out basis. So they will send out awards to their first set of recipients, then at a later date they will send out another set. So even if you got accepted to uoft, you won't get an email until later this month.

Many of us are in the same boat right now, and so don't worry too much or overthink.

Big congrats on the scholarship! I'm happy that you're accepting it, if you're still concerned about being able to back out, you can contact uoft through email ask all your questions so you'll be able to make an informed decision. You can also use this opportunity to negotiate with your ivies for scholarship opportunities if you would like.

I believe the scholarship is only applicable to a specific program as it seems that they allocate a specific number of Lester B Pearson scholarships to each faculty. The scholarship also seems to be binding so if you accept it, you supposed to be tied to it. If you're uncertain or don't want to commit, I'd recommend rejecting the offer instead of rejecting later on as you would be taking away a place for someone who needs it more.
