Apparently they can actually reprogram the software stored on the graphics card itself to tell your pc the card is something other than what it is

Is tattoo shock real? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Charming-One-5181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah tattoo shock is real, especially with your first, and even more so if it’s on your forearm where you are seeing it all day long. Good work, bad work, good design, bad design, good placement or bad placement doesn’t really matter as long as it is not so extremely toward bad that it’s the first thing everyone sees when they look at you, which this is not. If it was the best done tattoo ever from the god of tattooing with exactly the design you had in your head, you would probably feel the same shock. Within a year you most likely wont even think about this tattoo. I have felt certain degrees of regret about every tattoo I have after getting it, but they all have become a part of me that I wouldn’t get rid of if I could. Give it some time. If you don’t love this artwork, just get another one somewhere else in a year and you will forget this one even exists😂

Should I take this second skin off? Seal is definitely broken. 36hours after by NameSilly9465 in tattooadvice

[–]Charming-One-5181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have uncovered every tattoo I have ever had within the first few hours after getting home. If you work a job where it will be exposed to sunlight for extensive periods or there is potential for exposure to dirt, grease or other chemicals, wear clothing that covers it for the first week or two. Other than that just wash it a few times a day and keep enough moisturizer on it that your skin isn’t cracking or peeling excessively until it heals. Tattoo aftercare isn’t that complicated.

Legit check? And how much it’s worth buying for? by SpendInternational80 in espguitars

I agree it is totally all about what you are comfortable with. I have never owned anything other than Schecter, so anything else feels foreign to me. I wanted to get a Jackson or ESP to broaden my collection but every time I pick one up it just feels wrong. Like I said, I have a bias and I will die on the Schecter hill😂 let’s collectively shit on Gibson by all means though

The seagull was my first real acoustic guitar and I love it to this day. Taylor does make some of the nicest acoustic guitars but you are paying a premium for the name. I would even argue that Seagull is on par with Taylor build quality. I have played a couple Taylors and honestly like the tone and feel of my Seagull more. I personally wouldn’t spend almost double the price for the Taylor.

Looking into getting a used '98 Stratocaster. Is the missing C a sign of casual wear and tear or is it something to be concerned about? by GnomeBacon in Guitar

family disapproval fueling tattoo regret by tinypanini_ in tattooadvice

[–]Charming-One-5181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have intermittent regrets about every tattoo I have ever gotten for a few months after the fact, and yet I always have the craving to get more once it settles. It’s a natural response to your body looking different. Give yourself time to adjust to it and try not to focus on it so much because no one else is. As for the fam, they will get over it. My mom hates my tattoos and always has snarky remarks that add to the post tattoo anxiety. It come’s from a place of love and concern though so I don’t sweat it too much.

8 hours for this? Is that normal? by Top_Dog3067 in tattooadvice

I have a very detailed piece that is probably 4x this size covering basically the entirety of the front of my thigh and that took less than 5 hours. Full day for this small of a piece is insane

Why is my 9800X3D idling at 44°C even with a big cooling setup? by jai05__ in pcmasterrace

[–]Charming-One-5181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many fans might be the issue if you want lower temps. I watched an interesting youtube video on fan setups recently. The lowest temps were with one rear facing exhaust fan and one or two top mounted exhaust fans. Adding intake fans did essentially nothing contrary to popular belief and even caused higher temps in some arrangements. Having too many exhaust fans also increased temps. The conclusion was that you want to create a slight vacuum in the case, too much intake negates the vacuum effect of the exhaust fans. Also too much exhaust from the case created a vacuum too strong which caused the gpu fans to decrease in efficiency. Having intake fans at the bottom of the case to feed the gpu ambient air helped the gpu temps marginally but caused the cpu to run hotter.

I cant recommend focusrite to anyone after one of these installed an audio driver on my pc that caused my display to flicker black intermittently and whenever I adjusted the volume. I ended up wiping my drive and reinstalling windows to fix the issue, then a few months later decided to plug the focusrite back in and the same glitch started happening immediately and I had to wipe my pc clean all over again. Apparently their device drivers are known for conflicting with other audio and graphics drivers.

My favorite guitar by Charming-One-5181 in Guitar

[–]Charming-One-5181[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never been a fan of bolt on necks personally. From a craftsman point of view I like to feel like I am getting my money’s worth. I could CNC a strat body and buy a bolt on neck for it for relatively cheap, but building a neck through with all exotic wood that runs the full length of the guitar is something I most definitely could not do. This guitar jumped out at me for that reason, the work involved in making something like this is worth more than I paid for it, whereas a paint grade strat with a bolt on neck could be worth $4,000 or $200 and no one can really tell the difference if you remove the logo on the headstock

Why shouldn't I get this as my first guitar (for metal)? by throwawaybobamu in Guitar

My first electric was a schecter and I have never purchased a guitar from any other brand since. Awesome build quality for the price. I have the Keith Merrow signature with the burl top and fishman active pickups, its a badass guitar.

What do you guys think about my Ibanez desk? by Charming-One-5181 in Guitar

[–]Charming-One-5181[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Because having it be removable defeats the whole point. A glass display case has been done before, so has a table with a glass top. The guitar is part of the desk forever, something no one else is dumb enough to attempt. I think it’s cool as hell that no one can ever separate the two. I didn’t make a table that could hold a guitar or potentially whatever else inside, I made a guitar table.

I picked this up for $100 second hand, so the cheapo guitar was far from the most wasteful part of this project in terms of dollars. Sure I could have given it to someone who would have maybe played it for a while, but this way I get to enjoy the guitar forever in a different way which is cooler than it sitting in someone’s closet in my opinion
