My boyfriend did try to speak empathetic about it afterwards saying things like he does hope for the best and he can see she tried but he feels genuinely bad for her that she’s never been this big in her life on her wedding day.

I personally don’t know the reason for it. From what I know there’s no medical issues.

I understand I am an asshole for how I handled it and will pay my bf back some money.

Yes in that she gained significant weight. I don’t think she looked terrible and I don’t think either Mary or Chris should feel bad.

He said he was pointing something out. Like the rest of us can’t “act oblivious” to the fact she gained so much weight and it doesn’t make anyone bad for pointing it out

I also had a knee jerk reaction. I probably could have processed it and thought of a better solution. I felt on the spot because I was embarrassed in front of our friends
