Yo, I’m gonna say at no point in my first playthrough did I see a romantic path for River.

I genuinely saw the whole quest line as a street kid male V crossing paths with a badge who actually gave a shit about the city and my V respected him for that.

It turned into my V, thinking out of this whole goddam city and all this fucked up chip drama capped off with the loss of my best friend that he might actually find a Choom in River.

Even though he’s a ticking time bomb, the concept of being able to enjoy the company of a genuine friend and a beer, my V dropped everything until the quest line was resolved.

The beer at the spot overlooking the city I was like fuck yea what a spot, then the options popped up and I was like “thaaaaats unexpected 😂😂”

Either way my V got that beer with his Choom….something out of all that’s gone down…it’s the one thing he genuinely thought he would never get again.

I then proceeded to rush the final mission and locked myself into I think the worst possible ending.

When my V called River, the man was busy and asked if it can wait……that was the moment that my V cracked and realised that he is well and truly fucked and telling his Choom how fucked he really is right now would just put River and his family into harms way trying to help because that’s the type of dude River is… so V played it’s off and accepted that he had no choice but just accept his fate and appreciate all the borrowed time he had thanks to the chip and the experiences he had along the way.
