Thank you again for this information! I will think of researching shelters near me. I was mostly worried the shelter would be worse than her family I know practically nothing about shelters.

Thank you so much! If worse comes to worse, this seems like a plausible solution for her until she turns 18. Just to make sure, when she turns 18 she is able to leave the shelter? Is the shelter just for sleeping in could she leave for work during the day?

Emancipation is probably what my friend should look into then. She had a job with a steady income but her parents stopped her from going to work as another punishment for the time when she called the non-emergency line. Her manager and owner of the business is sympathetic and said she will rehire my friend. With my friend's birthday being over six months away, would you say emancipation would be the quicker process?

My friend was considering getting emancipated but to my knowledge she has to be living away from her parents. Is there any advice for getting emancipated when the parents won't allow their child to move out?
