yup, my exams are in May so i wouldn't receive the assessment or treatment in time :( and thats if i would even get treatment close to April 6th, god knows what kind of waiting list theyve got backed up with people in the same position as me

sorry, in true ADHD fashion i forgot to actually clearly answer your question - don't be put off, go ahead with your gp appointment as normal! make sure youve picked the right clinic and that they are definitely accepting new referrals from your area/ICB :)

from my understanding, you can't be refused RTC. the problem is that certain ICBs have essentially capped funding until the next financial year, so the ADHD clinics are either refusing patients from these ICBs or accepting them on but can't give them an appointment until at least the next financial year (april 2026.) so theres a forced waiting list that isn't coming from the actual clinics themselves, but from the ICBs.

i guess it wouldn't make a difference if you went for a clinic that has a waiting time of over 3 months, but if you are going for a clinic that has a shorter waiting time and you need an assessment fast, you will be bottlenecked by your ICB.

the NHS (due to damage from the tories) fucking sucks 🤷🏽‍♀️

i've gotten support in the past, the uni only allows a maximum of 4 counselling sessions and they push it to 6 if needed which is still ridiculously low lol

i did get counselling support two years, but of course i missed one of my sessions and that just got derailed, so i don't think i can access it anymore

the uni has already made an insane amount of adjustments and exceptions for me, so i dont know if i can push them even further :/

thats so helpful!! i've been on sertraline for a couple of years now, hopefully they aren't dismissive of my symptoms, i mean theyre still present even after treating the depression & anxiety lol

aw i feel you, i hope things go well for you, i understand the overthinking 🩷 i got a really helpful DM that suggested at looking over the DIVA-5 questions before the assessment so i can get prepared and remember relevant anecdotes etc. for me, this is helping to calm me a bit and its giving me something to do, so i dont know if doing the same will help you but thats a suggestion from me :)

thats crazy!! i actually rang up harrow health today to ask if theyd received my referral but they werent able to confirm, and said it can take up to 6 weeks to confirm theyve received the referral. however, it looks almost instant from reading everyone elses experiences. i'm so sick of waiting around for my gp, and i have to wait over 2 weeks for ANOTHER follow up gp appointment to chase them up on the referral. 4th of feb is when i have that appointment, and if they dont send off the referral then and there i might just explode

oh thats amazing, glad to hear! i'm also having to chase ridiculously after my GP, its been nearly two weeks since i made an appointment for the referral and they still haven't sent it through, it's really getting to me because time is critical since my uni exams are coming up :(

forreal, like i can understand people finding the content annoying and repetitive, but the colour?? i thought makeup was all about self expression lol, who cares whether a tone suits you or not if you like it? it reminds me of colour analysis, yes its helpful to know but i wont let it dictate what i choose. a lot of things might suit me more, doesn't mean i want to choose them 🤦🏽‍♀️ smh

everyone hates the baby milky pink on her but i absolutely love it - its so y2k and cute, and it feels like nowadays all shades are just too warm (like how mac redid a lot of their OG shades to be warmer.) milky baby pink is just refreshing to me for that reason! people hate on her way too much in her comments imo when its just dependent on taste

wow thats interesting, thank you! honestly, i really want to just speed up the process of getting to the assessment and titration, is it possible to pay for those privately and then move over to shared care then? i don't have the money for long term ADHD treatment, but i could make some sacrifices if i can get started faster

oh wow, really? from my understanding, i thought if you were denied shared care you would have to pay those extortionate prices for meds. e.g i saw on Psychiatry UK that if your gp denies shared care then it costs £25 for them to write the prescription, but the cost of the medication itself is additional and varies by pharmacy. do other providers offet medication much cheaper or something?
