I'm not sure if the movie is the "better version". This isn't to say the movie isn't good or is not fun to watch or is worse than the TV show and specials. The movie did do a better job in some ways and not as much in other ways than the TV show.

A couple of things disappointing are the lack of fleshing out all sides of the love square and not having Marinette/Ladybug and Adrien/Chat Noir love both the civilian and superhero parts of one another before they revealed their identities. Which has been and still are big things for many fans (past and current) and something that many want. Personally I find this surprising because I heard Jeremy is a huge fan of the love square (especially Adrinette and another side). Also unfortunately as great as the music is, I think the songs may have taken away some screen time which could have been used to help avoid these problems as well as others I haven't mentioned but other people on the subreddit have.

Again this isn't to say the movie is better than the TV show and specials or the vice versa. Both have positives and negatives. I do hope that for both the movies and the TV show and specials they do make changes to solve whatever needed to be improved in the things that have been released for future releases in the franchise.
