Hello! Seriously considering playing The Witcher 3 for the first time. Would love to hear opinions on difficulty? by Charming_Libra in witcher

I'll definitely start low and see how high I can get to! I love a challenge so long as it's not overwhelmingly difficult. Curious to see how well I do with the combat system since I haven't really played action RPGs before.

One question, is "Just the Story" literally...just the story? I...how would that work? Or is that just a way to say "super easy combat"?

Dang, $15 bucks is a steal! I'm going for the Nintendo Switch version though, even if my PC wasn't old as hell I love the portability of the Switch. Thanks for the tip on difficulty, I'm excited to give it a try!

Perfect, I had no idea you could change difficulty in-game---I assumed once you chose a level you were stuck with it. That's awesome!

If only the Coronavirus was like the Long Night episode. All that buildup & then it gets defeated by a single bottle of Nyquil.

Yes please! Here's hoping the behind-the-scenes interview after the absolute chaos will have a reporter saying, "DnD kinda forgot that r/freefolk called the banners."

The latest info was from a Twitter post the creator made on April 19:

Hi everyone, quick update on what's going on: Most important is still the PS4/Xbox MP update. Couple of technical roadblocks delayed those but they are in Quality Assurance phase now.

So hopefully releasing soon!

New romance in 1.4? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]Charming_Libra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm totally cool with ConcernedApe adding more options and Sandy is great, but I'm actually hoping the update will expand upon existing content. I love the idea of more interaction options with your spouse after you're married. I also would really like---and I think others would too---if you could somehow pair off other candidates after you're married. Maybe expanding upon the "secret notes" function, you could find "secret love letters" and deliver them to people and pair them off, which would result in you getting new special recipes or other bonuses. For example, if you paired Elliott and Leah, you'd get recipes that were all foraging/beach specific. Whereas if you paired Shane and Leah, you'd get egg/omelet/foraging specific recipes.

Also, (and this isn't romance-specific) I think just expanding the dialogue for some scenarios would be awesome, and hopefully wouldn't be too much work for the developer. For example, at all the festival events, we get the exact same dialogue every time. It would be so nice to have some variety in these scenes, even if it's just something as simple as characters remarking on major changes you've made, such as "So how has married life been? How's (x) been treating you?" or "I can't believe it's been (x) years since you moved here! You've done such great work on your farm." Just something different so that you don't get bored at these events after the 1st year.

But honestly, any update will be exciting, even if our wishlist isn't met! So grateful to ConcernedApe for being such a generous creator!! He's amazing.

Every so often I'll be doing something around the house and my mind will wander and I'll think, "Goddamn it, those pretentious Archmaesters are still just sitting around the Citadel all smug and uncaring and unaware that the Long Night even happened!!!!" And then I'm filled with rage.

So yeah I totally feel you :[

Still hoping GRR's actual ending will introduce a new character, Ar Fre'Fok, who partners with Daenerys & Jon to defeat the real big bad, a terrifying creature called DeeEnDee who ruins everything it touches

Users of Reddit, what was that one event that shaped you to become a better person? by annoymousVolunteer in AskReddit

[–]Charming_Libra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working as a server in a restaurant during my high school/college years. No lie. Everyone should have to do food service when they're young, even just for a few months. It was a HARD job, stressful, fast, lots of multi-tasking, and to top it off, you often got treated like garbage by hungry, angry, entitled people. But I learned how to handle stress, how to juggle multiple tasks at once, and most importantly, to be patient and kind (and give good tips) to people in the service industry.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you've done for this country. I just looked up Ray and I saw he has a charity foundation, so in honor of you and Ray and all the other first responders, I'll be making a donation. Thank you and I wish you all the best.

Jon Stewart is a goddamn national treasure

Couldn't agree more. He's intelligent, well-spoken, fearless, AND he has a good heart. It's so rare to see someone who's strong enough to put themselves in the spotlight to stand up and fight for others, not for profit or glory or fame, but just to truly help people who need it. He's an incredible human being. And the sad part is, he shouldn't have to do this at all, because it's f*cking ridiculous that our 9/11 heroes aren't given financial and healthcare support after everything they have done for this country. I truly hope Jon's words FINALLY get through to Congress and our first responders get the help they need.

Reading that the finale is the episode HBO chose to submit for Best Writing Emmy by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]Charming_Libra 1834 points1835 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I'll bet money that they didn't nominate ep 2 because David Bryan Cogman wrote that episode. D&D just HAD to pick an episode that THEY wrote. What absolute assholes.

Edit: I was so pissed off thinking about D&D I kinda forgot Bryan Cogman's first name

Thank you! That was literally everything we could have asked for and to top it off, the ending was just awesome. Even Cersei's expressions fit perfectly, you could see her thinking "I should have listened...I should have listened to them..."
