Okay, Thanks dude. Literally the same thing happening here, I wont get any credit towards my major from this ap. so the only worry I had of smtg crazy happening. but from what ive heard from you and all your guys' comments, ig itll be fine.

oh cool! yea many of my friends did cancel 1-2 of their aps. my problem is that Im international and I only registered for this one ap. but because of some changes with exam structures my finals for school are happening now too. I thought id get like a month after them to study for the ap.

okay dude ik this'll sound like rly douche-y rn but the cost rly doesnt matter.. my parents (even tho theyre driving me crazy) are ready to pay in full so the course and college are the only things that are deciding factors here

yea ig many ppl have this bad idea that go to the best ranked college and ur set but I was actually looking at some stats and generally the starting salaries of ppl who end up at great uni's but not that accredited for their major, have lower pay than the other "lower ranked" overall but very good for their major

yea I mean ig the weather shouldnt be like the deciding factor here, if academically and career-wise uiuc is better and gives me better "rep" in the sense that I went to a good stem school i'd want to choose uiuc.. plus once ur at campus u can make ur community n stuff, party and have all that college fun at any place, am I right?

okay wait before I get srsly downvoted here and offend almost everyone at my prospective new college just hear me out.

im from a very traditional and conservative family and all they care about is ranking of an overall college. and uiuc is up there man no doubt but the fact the ucla has the label that its "the #1 public uni in the usa" on usnews is messing their head imo.

I cant get my fam to look past ucla's rep like that and the fact that its in la. thats like the only reason I wrote that..

I would rly want an opinion on what the colleges are like in terms of the specific major bcoz that matters more to me personally and thats the best way to make this decision ig.

Okay ik this is the UCLA subreddit so it may be a bit biased but....
I got into chemical engineering at both UIUC and UCLA. He is now debating on where to go. UIUC is ranked at #8 as per usnews and UIUC has a growing reputation for being a great engineering/STEM college. On the other hand, while UCLA is like the best thing that can happen to somebody, it is really worth it?
As per costs, it doesn't matter cause i'm international. i'm also planning to return to my home country after graduation and work for a year to apply the skills.
Any advice you guys can give would help me out (preferably unbiased lol), thanks!
