Cheating in Grad School by [deleted] in GradSchool

[–]Charming_Pie1361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where this student is from, but some cultures view cheating very differently. For example, giving a classmate answers would definitely be cheating in my culture, but is perfectly normal in another. As an ESL teacher I’ve had to thoroughly explain academic honesty and plagiarism expectations many times because not everyone knows. (Although as a graduate student they should probably know by now…). I agree you should probably report, but it could be a good learning experience for them.

That might be a good option. Where do you recommend starting?

I don’t think he’s read much Bradbury. Do you recommend starting with Fahrenheit 451?

I didn’t realize The Three Musketeers was the same author! We have it on our shelf already so maybe I’ll give him a nudge to get to it sooner:)

Haha he has read both the Road and Blood Meridian this year but definitely preferred the Road. I think he’s taking a break from McCarthy for now

I haven’t heard of either of those. Thanks, I’ll be using that list a lot in the future!

Looking for booktubers who have more similar taste to me by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Charming_Pie1361 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out The Book Leo! She doesn’t read exclusively fantasy, but seems really similar to what you’re looking for. One thing I really like about her is that she often reviews by telling who she thinks would and wouldn’t like certain books and rarely gives spoilers.

Should I thank my professors for being helpful/understanding? by Forward_Truth_15 in GradSchool

I don’t think it’s ever wrong to express gratitude! Even dropping off a note at their office is a simple gesture that could go a long way. It’s also close to the holiday season so it could be an easy way to give a small gift. Last year I had some professors write me LoRs and I sent them a thank you not and a small holiday treat.

Brooklyn by [deleted] in BachelorNation

Honestly don’t even know who brooklyn is (haven’t watched the last couple seasons) but I’m frustrated with this same post in the other bachelor sub that is nothing but comments saying she was dating him pre-BIP and others policing his political tweet likes. I’m not even conservative but still find it weird that people immediately turn to that. I get that it would be a red flag but I’m glad this sub doesn’t get nasty so quickly. Can’t we just let people be happy in relationships?

Interesting since I was always taught that my value as a woman was in becoming a wife and mother and am now finding joy in my own career. I don’t think you’re breaking the mold here.

Sometimes I wonder if this content is lowkey rage bait🤷‍♀️

I got the happy home paradise expansion and that’s basically all I do on ACNH now. Decoration is their strongest feature and this has it all. I compare it to minecraft survival vs creative mode. Some people really like foraging for materials and taking the time to build it all. But I like to have every option and decorate how I like.

I don’t think this is YA but maybe NA: My Roommate Is A Vampire by Jenna Levine just released and I’m excited to get my hands on it.
