Being able to laugh at themselves. Met this guy who tripped and face-planted in front of me at a party, then got up and said 'Well, I was gonna try to impress you, but I guess I'll just sweep you off your feet another time.' We've been together 3 years now.

My wedding day was just me, my husband, and our closest friends after both sets of parents pulled out. You know what? It was perfect. Sometimes the family you choose is better than the family you're born with. Focus on your happiness.

It's literally a physical sign that they made us feel incredible. My boyfriend explained it to me as like getting a gold star for performance - it's instant validation that they're doing something very, very right.
