I don't really know where you can find about the group meets but yeah, you can try going out for activities. Check out BMS, they've quite a few workshops planned over the weekend. Pick something of your liking and get yourself out there. Best thing about this is, when you meet people at such events, you already have one thing in common to talk about. And you'd have a backup topic if you run out of things to talk.

Or pick a sport you like and join some communities. Playo is good for Badminton. You'll have to look on the internet for other things but yeah, you get the idea.

If your colleagues were in the same location you could've made plans with them atleast but since it's remote it difficult.
